3 84 Hunter Nourzad, C, Penn State
3× 98 Jarvis Brownlee, Jr., CB, Florida State
4 128 Qwan'tez Stiggers, DB, Toronto Argonauts

3× 98 Jarvis Brownlee, Jr., CB, Florida State

Werner where a lot of sites have him projected, not terrific value. Werner where Cop just got him? Pretty darn good value. Nice pick.

FYI on the mega-composite board, Werner has an average ranking of 150.4444444, which ranks him135th.
One site PFN had him at 46th and one site (FBGP) had him at 387th!
That's right around the widest range of any prospect. I have one that has a range of 463th to 7th.

That's a crazy huge range of a guy with as many snaps on tape as Werner has. 46th is way too high, and 387th is just, well, comically low. I think late 3rd-early 4th is good value for what he put on tape, and what he brought to the locker room. He'll be a roster player in the league for a while, though I'm not sure about a high quality starter. Love to hear who 7th-463rd guy is.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 5:31 pmFYI on the mega-composite board, Werner has an average ranking of 150.4444444, which ranks him135th.

I have a ton of respect for the low guy on Werner, because he clearly gives zero fucks how anyone else has the player evaluated. His rankings are pretty damn solid, go much deeper than most sites, and are usually very insighful. I may not agree with all his takes, but if he puts something out there that's different, it makes me want to go and look at my own notions about the player. Most of the draft rankings are boilerplate.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 5:48 pmThat's a crazy huge range of a guy with as many snaps on tape as Werner has. 46th is way too high, and 387th is just, well, comically low. Gotta check the site out. I think his floor is ST/backup, so it's hard for me to imagine 386 players ahead of him. Sheesh, that mean's he's likely got Borland ahead of him, and athletically, at least, that's a little odd. About to go read and find out.

Ha! Now I feel bad for Borland, but he's a UDFA if I ever saw one, so, not too far off base there.

Indeed it is. He comes close to rising to the exalted level of ham n egger, though. I agree with a lot of the FBGB rankings, including Hilliard above Werner.

Watching Werner play just made me so angry. I don't think I could ever draft him. I don't know what it was, other than it just seemed like he left a ton of plays on the field. I wasn't watching game film or grading him in a structured methodology, so this isn't valid, but for whatever reason he just pissed me off.
That Buckeye LB room in general was definitely a bit of a hit or miss bunch, for sure.

Yep, I viewed guys like him and Werner as Dirty Reds (on a good day) at the NFL level.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 6:16 pmBorland's scouting report is basically the wikipedia entry for "Try Hard, Football Smart, Overacheiver"

Sorry, everyone––got a little wrapped up with work and couldn't enforce the clock sooner with Jobu. We will move on and he can pick when he checks back in.

While I was out cold, he texted me to ask how long he had to pick... I texted him back and he hasn't replied. We'll move on shortly if he hasn't picked.
