Per Ed Bouchette tweet

@EdBouchette: Falcons coach Mike Smith, speaking to Pgh media, just said he is still hoping that Julio Jones will play Sunday, though he DNP today.

#Falcons coach Mike Smith said Julio Jones and safety William Moore will play if they are ready by Sunday. They don't need to practice.

Is it bad that I instinctively thought the title said Jarvis Jones?

If Julio plays, the Steelers need to target his hips when they tackle him. No time to be nice. Julio is the only way the Falcons beat us.

Wait, who makes tackles in this secondary again?

I feel weird that I want Ike to sit this game out. Have always supported the guy throughout the years. Our #1 corner winning 2 of 3 SBs. I always used to tell people who would bash him throughout his career that HE DID pick Matt Hasselbeck at the end of XL to preserve the win. His work ethic over the years is second to none....having said that, he looks like a completely different player at this age/stage. I would play both McCain or Blake over him right now, which I think will happen.

I will let you know after this Sunday's game.

Are we going to see him on strictly passing downs?

I would think so.

In reality....they'll get him on the ground however they can. They'll certainly need pass up a sure tackle in order to make contact with the hip. I would have been surprised had he practiced today. Hell....our guys take Wednesday off as mental health days.

I'm sure Troy will dive at his hip, and whiff badly, at least once.

Finally got chance to see JULIO JONES @Atlanta_Falcons injury video. No clear trauma. Could be left hip flexor strain. Questionable.

I'm willing to bet Jones plays Sunday. Their post season prospects are drying up quickly and they are just barely holding on to the lead in their division. I think the falcons will be every man standing plays mentality.

Well, that and the fact that they're playing The Steelers are good reasons for any team to bring all they gots...

Falcons play New Orleans next week. They win that game, regardless of what they do against the Steelers, they're in the lead for the Division going into the finale.

Not inconceivable that Mike Smiff wants to make goddamn sure that he has his top guy available for THAT game.

Then they finish with Carolina
And Cam Newton getting banged up..............has him on the sidelines this week............
which could hurt their chances of winning sunday vs Tampa Bay........
so maybe a break for Atlanta as well..............

I still think Atlanta still comes out looking to hang 40+

Good god. Atlanta or New Orleans could win the division at 6-10.

Certainly possible. I'm predicting a 7-9 Divison winner though. In the finale, Saints are at Tampa Bay, Atlanta hosts Carolina. I think they both lose this weekend (Saints are at Chicago on Monday night), one of them will win their rematch next Sunday, then they both win their final game.

I would just laugh at a 6-10 division winner. Thing is, ATL or NO are capable of bunches of points and could actually win a playoff game, which would be even more hilarious.

Has anyone suggested yet that the fix will be in in order to avoid a 6-10 division winner?

I was thinking the exact same thing! Oh the delicious ironic tragedy! Not to mention this is the exact kind of symmetry Satan plans out for the end of his deals and you know the clock is ticking on that Carroll contract. That man is 103. Looks 40. Shops for ascots with Ashley Judd, bullshit! No one else in the Jim Lee Howell coaching tree can dress without a diaper, this fucker slobbers on 90s B actresses like he is Wesley Snipes. Looking for deals with the devil are normally much easier to detect, like when your follow up album is "Use Your Illusion." Or your second directorial attempt is "Nacho Libre." Carroll's has followed a much more sinister path of scorched earth and dreams. Started by assembling Belichecks 3 Time Super Bowl winners, then straight to USC where he sold NFL teams first round talent like Matt Lienart, Mike Williams, Reggie Bush, Keith Rivers, and the other Mike Williams, bleagh, I still question Cushing and Matthews abilities, both their orbital ridges could subdue somalia Pirates with a wink of an eyebrow, yet neither topped 160 in High School? Satan. You heard it here first. Perhaps its jealousy, perhaps I just fucking hate USC. Whichever, I also really hate Seattle this year. I want to see that loss, let the Ouroboros ride.

Despite a few filler tracks on each record, the Use Your Illusion albums were awesome IMO, and musically superior to Appetite. I have UYI II in my car cd player right now.
