The reality is we either claw our way into an early playoff exit or miss out. We can have hope in every area except with the offensive line. The line will stop any hopes of an underdog playoff run. Since either option is just a couple places in the draft order I'm hoping to win as much as possible to attract quality free agents. I still have this Aaron Rodgers/Russ Wilson dream if Ben doesn't come back.

That's fuckin huuuge....hope we can take advantage!!
A A Ron would be nice for a year or so….but you’re doing that to win a SB. I think it’s hard to attract a HOF QB with this offensive line. I hope they have an off-season plan to revamp the line via FA….
Adding two solid vets prior to making a huge move in FA for a QB would be required.
Hope Tuitt comes back next year along w Alualu. Their absence was a huge detriment to defense.

Not having Tuitt and Alualu was huge for sure.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 3:10 pmA A Ron would be nice for a year or so….but you’re doing that to win a SB. I think it’s hard to attract a HOF QB with this offensive line. I hope they have an off-season plan to revamp the line via FA….

The NFL adds a 7th playoff team, and extra game, and I'm surprised that a Tomlin team will likely finish as the 8th seed for the first time in his career?
Direct result of mailing it in some weeks because he's satisfied to just sneak into the playoffs as the last seed.

So this will be the week we finally come out aggressively throwing to set up the run right?
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Throw aggressively to who? Our lame ass receivers, a RB stud who looks completely lost, or Zach Gentry?

It will definitely be an adjustment for extra points and FGs.
Maybe they decide to go for 2 and be a little more aggressive trying to pick up the TD instead of the FG.

I'd like a link please.

I'm worried about stopping the run.
I see KC ramming it right down our throats.

Cleveland losing in heartbreaking fashion was a great start...Having both Hill *and* Kelce out would have been the best Christmas gift, but I'll take Kelce.
Apparently, Hill is playing.drmalba wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 6:54 pmCleveland losing in heartbreaking fashion was a great start...Having both Hill *and* Kelce out would have been the best Christmas gift, but I'll take Kelce.
NHALS = NFL purgatory
Ratbirds look like a college team today. Their running back might be worse than anyone on the Stillers roster. Cindy might win by 40 today. Can’t say I hate Harbaugh looking lost on the sidelines even if it isn’t SBI.
And then of course the Ravens rip off a TD drive capped by a Freeman 2-yard TD run LOL

We’ll, it’s Ben, so it also opens up some interesting fake threat.

I don't think Ben will be holding the ball. He didn't last time they were without a holder.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:23 pmWe’ll, it’s Ben, so it also opens up some interesting fake threat.

IDK, they are not a good running team and Reid will inexplicably just stop calling runs. I'm more worried about giving up big plays to their fast WRs. I think the D will keep the Steelers in it.

Yeah, Ben wasn't going to hold when Boz was injured because they were afraid of Harvin kicking his hand. No such worries this week.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:33 pmThe news yesterday said he would be holding.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:28 pmI don't think Ben will be holding the ball. Sounds like Waitman is practicing holding during the warm ups according to Missi Mathews.TTP wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:41 pmYeah, Ben wasn't going to hold when Boz was injured because they were afraid of Harvin kicking his hand. Houston just got a pick six to pretty much seal an upset win over the Chargers.
So now…improbable as it may seem…if the Steelers win out…they are in the playoffs.

There are ways to make the playoffs even without winning out. But 10-6-1 would be great.

12 of 16 teams in the AFC have seven losses or fewer.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 8:53 pmThere are ways to make the playoffs even without winning out. But 10-6-1 would be great.![]()
You were right it was SBI for the Pats to win today and they are not going to.
So that’s two WC teams (Colts and Bills) with 6 losses and multiple teams with seven.
If we get to seven losses, we are not going to have enough seven loss teams lose for us to sneak in.
That tie with Detroit is going to sink us just like the tie against Cleveland in 2018 sank us.
