Steelers signed WR/KR Gunner Olszewski
We replaced Ray-Ray with a real PR/KR. Great Pittsburgh name, too.

Steelers signed WR/KR Gunner Olszewski, formerly of the Patriots, to a two-year contract.
Olszewski, 25, was an All-Pro punt returner for the Patriots in 2020 but wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent this offseason. He has nine career catches for 127 yards and one touchdown as a receiver in his career and was once thought of as a possible heir to Julian Edelman in the slot for New England.
EDIT: He gets a 2-year deal worth $4.2M.

I hope he’s better than Ray Ray.

This is the ideal 9-8 roster and coaching staff. i'll be looking to bet on exactly 9 wins for the steelers next year

He looks like a good return man, not super fast but hits the ground running. Gunner went to Bemidji State Division II, where he played CB.
Have any of you heard of Bemidji State University before today? I guess someone from Minnesota has.

8-8-1 all the way.
And hopefully Jibbs isn’t looking to feature the guy at WR like he did Ray Ray.

Dobre Shunka
Is Gunner Olszewksi any relation to Scooter McGavin?

I predict he will not make the 53.
He has 9 catches in 3 years. He's not Ray Ray coming in to the be #3. He is a placeholder until they draft someone who has good return skills.
Ryan Switzer with more reliable return skills.

pretty sure the Hockey program there went to the frozen four about a decade back and there are references to it in Fargo the TV series.Stallworth16 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:13 pmHe looks like a good return man, not super fast but hits the ground running. This guy has to be so good to that Steelers will eat a roster spot for him.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 2:35 amI predict he will not make the 53.

He is not a WR and never played D in the NFL. This sounds like a terrible signing.
Gunner needs to do what Tim Wakefield did and discover some niche valuable skill for the Steelers besides return man. Great returner and the greatest jet sweeper in history, or great returner and he turns into the Mike Hilton slot blitzer from hell. Otherwise it is a wasted roster spot.
