Dwayne Haskins Killed

Post by smithessmokin » Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:06 pm

Per Adam Schefter, this is absolutely tragic:

Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before struggling to catch on with Washington and Pittsburgh in the NFL, died this morning when he got hit by a car in South Florida, per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins would have turned 25 years old on May 3.

Dwayne Haskins was training in South Florida with other Steelers QBs, RBs and WRs. He was killed this morning in South Florida when he got hit by a vehicle. Tragic….

Holy smokes!

Just saw this. Absolutely unbelievable… I never envisioned him being a contributor but I have to imagine something tragic like this has an effect on the team.

Every day is a blessing.

What does this do to the draft equation?

One could argue that this changes things. Assuming Rudolph is out, now you need the bridge replacement and the 3rd stringer. Sure you can get this in FA, but I think this will change the equation and make it easier to draft a QB for the FO if they were on the fence.

Tragic. RIP.

Wont change any draft plans. They’re were drafting a QB anyway.

Keep thinking about the group down there training. Hope none of them witnessed this. Just awful.

Wondering how Tribisky is feeling. He does this great thing and invites a bunch of teammates down to Florida to train and this happens.

Man. Terrible

Yeah, this was my first thought. This is going to weigh on his mind for the rest of his life. I know exactly how he must be feeling right now. I'm so sorry for the Haskin family and his Steeler teammates, particularly those down in Florida with him. My heart goes out to Mitch.

Unbelievably tragic. What was he doing walking on the side of the highway in the early morning. If he made the responsible decision to walk somewhere instead of drive because he had been drinking…man that’s just so sad.

It's being reported that Haskins was traveling on I-595 on his way to the airport to return to
Pittsburgh when he pulled over onto the side
of the road. Haskins was outside of the car
when a dump truck struck Haskins and killed
him.
I just don’t know how this happens. If you are going to pull over on an interstate, pull in where the guardrail breaks, pull over just after an on ramp…ride the flat back to the airport if you make the kind of money he makes. If it is the engine use the starter to bump it into a safer spot.

By the way, Gil Brandt and Adam Schefter can choke on a bag of dicks together. Assholes

Starting to sounds like suicide. Apparently he was on the highway or "trying to cross" the west bound lane.

Tragic.

Reported trying to cross the highway, hit by a dump truck.
