Not sure he has any trade value.

Yep team is in full re-build mode. They need oline, dline, an ILber and DBs. That means acquiring as many draft picks as possible.
I'd keep DJ, but I think the market will overvalue him.
But he's probably the most valuable trade option this year, before the deadline. Could be a huge upgrade to a #2 or #3 receiver for a contender. Still limited value given he's a FA after this year. But maybe worth an R3 to a legit contender.
Claypool is a bag of rocks. Doubt you could get better than an R6 for him. He's signed through next year, so I suppose(?) he's good enough as vet depth.
Najee is a total JAG, at best. No trade value.

Truly bold would be to trade Boz.
Think about it. He could be a HUGE difference maker to a contender. Yeah, he's basically 90% of our offense, but it's going to be at least a few years before a kicker matters for this team.

I doubt a full on rebuild is warranted or wise
Najee and Warren are as good a RB unit as the Steelers have had in several years. I would look to add another piece and try to exploit a 3 headed monster at RB
The WR unit looks to be in solid shape. Pickens DJ and one more solid piece (possibly Austin) could really do some damage
TE is acceptable
No one will want to admit this now but questions remain at QB
The defense needs a lot of help

DJ is under contract through 24. Just signed a two year extension.I'd keep DJ, but I think the market will overvalue him.

Twice he failed to get his feet down for what would have been HUGE plays. HUGE plays. One would have given us a first down at the 3 yard line while this game was still in reach. Do we win it? Probably not, but scoring a TD there might have got Kenny going.
Johnson let Pickett down a bunch of times today and he's simply never going to be the star in Pittsburgh he's being paid to be.
He'll always make these mistakes. Always. I'm not going to defend it anymore.

Team has half dozen good players. Doesn’t matter who plays, trades, or lays. With Deuce-ology, rebuild will take (open ended)
I don't think he deserves top-10 money. But he's still a damn good receiver. Reminds me of Chad Johnson. Hugely productive, big plays...and big mistakes.
I think the difference is DJ doesn't talk, and he knows he's having mental lapses. He cleaned it up most of last year, and I think he'll go back to work. But what he is now is a damn fine #2 receiver.
People are searching for answers and pointing fingers. DJ isn't why the offense sucks.

Trade Tomlin.

DJ personally fucked his own QB about 5 times today. He's being paid huge money and he's brutally awful on a consistent basis. His consistency is his inconsistency. Claypool is FUCKING TERRIBLE. I was excited about Freiermuth. He's average. Nothing more.
I love Najee Harris but he isn't going to help this team. He's slow and isn't what this team needs. The o-line has performed better than expected but Dan Moore isn't going to be a high level LT that should be charged with protecting Kenny Pickett's blind side. You wanna count how many big hits Pickett took today and it wasn't only because he was holding the ball. The o-line needs better players.
Then we have the defense where you literally need to address EVERY SINGLE POSITION except free safety. Did you watch Alex Highsmith today? If we're picking let's say 3rd overall, you grab that Alabama pass rusher. You fucking run to the podium. We need help at ILB, OLB, on the d-line. 2 new corners and a SS.
Christ we might need a new kicker and punter before this season's over.
This team needs....wait for it....A FULL ON REBUILD including the head coach and offensive coordinator.

Whoa dudes let’s not overreact. We are only like 95% of a roster turnover from being a contender. And a completely new coaching staff.

With TJ, we're probably 2-3. But while I knew it was going to be ugly post-Ben, I didn't think it would be this bad.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 8:36 pmWhoa dudes let’s not overreact. We are only like 95% of a roster turnover from being a contender. And a completely new coaching staff.

I think Pickett is more talented than 2021 Ben, but he lacks the experience to overcome Canada's stupidity.

Basic rule of thumb on SteelerFury:
Whatever KC says is based on the spur of the moment and always wrong. Furthermore he will continue to defend it long after it has been overwhelmingly proven incorrect.

Now you're targeting Pickett.

I'm pretty down on claypool. He was jogging through the first five yards of his routes at the end. He doesn't care. I'll give najee the benefit because I think he may be hurt but Warren is glaringly better right now.
"Pretty down"?
What would it take for you to be "really down" on Claypol? If he falls asleep on the field?

I’m legit worried about Muth. Was today his third or fourth concussion?

What can we get for Tomlin?
"Jack Lambert is mean and relentless wherever he goes, on and off the field! I do remember many times he would chase me in practice, but no way would I let him catch me" - Franco Harris
LOL, seriously.
You read Claypool's comments and you see a guy who's just lazy that thinks his talent is enough. My guess is this week Pickett asked him for some extra reps and not the other way around.

It's sad, but did you see Cool Shades today? Jawing with players from the sidelines and shit?
He's having the time of his life. Tomlin is going nowhere and frankly, neither are the Steelers as long as he's the head coach.
