Per Dulac, Diontae Johnson began yelling at Mitch Trubisky to throw him the ball more at halftime vs Jets. Trubisky stood up to Johnson and heated exchange followed. That’s when Kenny Pickett was told he would start the second half.
Wow...just wow.

Good for Trubisky tho.
No QB SHOULD EVER take guff from receivers
Believe me. If he was open MT would LOVE to get rid of the football

If he throws to him ten times, he’ll catch nine.

How often is one of his feet out of bounds?
Once with Trubisky in the Jets game for what would have been a TD and twice in the Buffalo game.
Once at the Buffalo 3 yard line when the game was still in reach. Buffalo was only up either 7-0 or 10-0, I forget.
When we settled for a field goal (Boz missed the next 2) I knew we were fucked from there on out.

It does seem to happen a lot. But we also have such an aversion to the middle of the field that we probably lead the league in side line pass attempts. I guess I’m saying is that the shear volume of such passes has to be somewhat of a contributing factor.K_C_ wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:14 pmHow often is one of his feet out of bounds?

I wonder if the one win will do enough to repair all the drama in the locker-room that Coach Mike is an EXPERT at controlling with ping pong tables.
Weirdo diva WR goes ballistic on QB, QB gets demoted. Wild.

As long as this bastard is catching the ball, I don't really give a fuck what he's doing or who he's yelling at.
Job description numero uno is don't drop the damn ball, let's see how long he keeps it up.

Remember him dropping all those slants last year???
Christ I think he dropped four or five in the playoff game alone.
That is entirely different discussion and has nothing to do with the numerous times he failed to get his feet down on sideline throws.Ben2Ken wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 11:38 pmLol, You guys think he wouldn't drop WAAAY more in the middle of the field lol!?!?!?

I can believe that Mitch and DJ got into it at halftime for that shit show. That locker room probably hasn't been a fun place to be since week one. But I think Dulac is taking a little creative license here linking it to the benching.
Note also everyone else is just quoting the original story so there's no other actual corroborating source here.
I think Mitch got benched because he was playing meek and Tomlin wanted to send him a message. Given the results yesterday, looked like he lit a fire under his ass.

Yeah you're right. Not getting your feet down loses you a down. He's done that a few times.SteelPro wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 11:51 pmThat is entirely different discussion and has nothing to do with the numerous times he failed to get his feet down on sideline throws.
Having the ball clank off your hands in the middle of the field has a HIGH probability of being picked off. He's done that several times. I'm fairly certain that's why he plays only on the outside and mainly on the perimeter now.
Once the defense realizes there's about a 3% chance the ball is going to the middle and starts clogging the sidelines, the chances for an INT on those passes begins to go up dramatically. This offense has got to be the easiest to defend in the NFL.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
While I'm sure DJ did go off during the half (notice how he's gotten much more brave/vocal/asshole-ish AFTER he got his G$$$), I believe Dulac is also taking creative license.drmalba wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 2:19 amI can believe that Mitch and DJ got into it at halftime for that shit show. Something I noticed/pointed out when it happened (and posted about here later that day) was if you go back and watch right before that first half ends, Tomlin and Kenny have a quick convo on the sideline and it appears that KP asks Tomlin if he's starting the second half and Tomlin responds with a yes/head nod. While I'm not a lip reader, I'm not really sure why KP would even be having a convo during that exact in-game moment with Tomlin (it was odd) unless he was asking him that specific question, and so he could start preparing himself to go in after the half.
