Najee Harris
I was wondering if anyone else thinks that the resurgence of Najee Harris has anything to do with the emergence of Jaylen Warren & refusing to be upstaged by undrafted 30. I can appreciate that the o-line is playing better & that Najee was injured but even before the foot problem, Harris seemed to be going sideways as much as he went forward. Regardless, it seems that the Steelers have gone from having a feeble running attack to a powerhouse & it was a pleasure watching them run down the Ravens.

I doubt it. Young OL getting better and injury healing much bigger factor IMO

I would also add coaching to the above. I've heard Naj ref Tomlin telling him to get going forward more as well.

Injury healed, Warren, O-line play, necessity of game plans, December, weather, have all contributed his improved play.

Dumping the Mitch Trubisky Experiment may have helped as well. What the fuck did that accomplish. One of the biggest personnel fuckups I can recall.

It was clear as day that something was wrong with the dude from day one of this season. Come to later find out, the steel plate and injury it was protecting was the culprit.
I don't think Najee needs any outside influences to motivate him, but the OL has certainly played better of late.
I'm super stoked about Warren, dude can carry a lot of the burden and make them both more effective.

Or Najee not dicking around in the backfield. Get north/south and go. That is his best style.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 5:26 pmI doubt it. Young OL getting better and injury healing much bigger factor IMO

Najee still lacks burst. He's been MUCH better and he has a role to play in this offense. But, there is no doubt that Warren's carries are helping him.
The downside of our need to feed 2 RBs though is an overemphasis on the run and never passing on 2nd down which is driving me crazy.

Najee had the best game of his career last night. I still think he was the third best back on the field.
Jaylen Warren is still our best overall RB. Better vision, more explosive, better blocker, and a better receiver. Warren offers more versatility and when it's blocked up he can turn a play into an explosive, game-changing 30 or 40 yards gain, which ain't really ever happening with Najee.

Weird how much Tomlin loves ground and pound football yet almost never had two quality running backs on his roster. Now he does. Najee is not a top 10 RB, but combined with Warren the Steelers have a legit top 10 tandem. This has been one of the best developments of the season.
