Post by K_C_ » Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:11 pm

Claims that Harrison wore an illegal helmet for 20 years in the NFL.

I was reading some of this on Twitter yesterday. Some of the replies are hilarious. Also, pretty impressive that James was in the league over 20 years and hid that illegal helmet the whole time.

Here's his James' Tweet when he woke up the morning after AB Tweeted that BS:
https://twitter.com/jharrison9292/statu ... 1932114951

And a funny one from Ramon Foster:
https://twitter.com/RamonFoster/status/ ... 4917784580

Here's the quick 20 second video of AB saying the stupid shit too:
https://twitter.com/Steelersdepot/statu ... 1004459008
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

He's blaming Harrison and not Burfict? I can't figure out when Harrison would have hit AB that hard. In practice?

The best scientists and doctors on the planet are unable to determine where the stupid ends and the CTE begins with AB.

You cant trace CTE to one hit.

So the whole thing is stupid.

Why anyone listens to a single word of what comes out of AB's piehole is beyond me. Well, yes I get that certain people enjoy shitshows.

Did AB get hit in the hit too much?

Or not enough?

Harrison is hilarious.

How in the world did this guy develop into a hall of fame-level receiver?

I hate this response. It diminishes what AB himself achieved prior to losing his mind.

It's def not a popular opinion on this board, but I have not problem owning it: Ben is going into the hall of fame in no small part because of AB.

(That does not mean Ben would not have been shoe in without AB, but my god, AB was otherworldly while it lasted.)

AB made plays, put up terrific numbers, and for a stretch was the best WR in the league. Hard to separate him from his QB, and equally hard not to note that Ben made a lot of good WRs look very good to great at many points in his career. AB was very, very good, though.

The tell about AB is that Ben didn't make anyone look like anything close to AB.

As one of the team's owners, Ben was specifically tasked with choosing helmets and ensuring compliance to the standard.

Add Max Starks to the Everyone List. Now implying that Ben's pursuit of MVP caused SB loss to Packers.

Do people think Ben is some choir boy who does not have flaws or personal vice (like all humans, including us)?

I'm sure Ben was a competitive ego maniac (regarding winning and achieving greatness). These elite athletes ALL are.

Not sure why Starks would put that on Ben, tho. Arians and Tomlin have ultimate responsibility for the game plan.

With the pick-six and another INT, as well as playing from behind the entire game, I'm not sure that game is the one you want to use to accuse Ben of "going for MVP," but I guess Max was in the huddle and I wasn't.

I'd say he's implying that Ben shouldn't have forced a throw or two trying to be a hero. Maybe called a run or two in the no huddle... yeesh

Max: "Hey Ben. I'm on TV now, but you remember when you got us to the SB, well, you suck. Why couldn't you have played less like Ben and more like a shitty QB who doesn't know how to make things happen like Mitch, our Current Man."

What an ungrateful piece of shit that dude is.

Couldn’t have put it better. 12 years after the fact, let’s make a ridiculous, unsubstantiated accusation. A piece of shit…indeed!

Ben had a huge chip on his shoulder that year. Even more than most years. That was the year of his suspension. He had to talk and act humbled, but deep down you know he wanted to stick it to everyone.

When I see a natural disaster on the news, I immediately think that only one person is to blame for it. Big Ben.
