Weidl hand prints all over
They've been pretty active, especially when you think the OL roster might have been set.
Going to be an interesting year, for sure. I don't think anyone really knows what to expect from this offense. They want to be a power running team, but I'm not sure we'll see the 60%+ numbers from Ben's first two years. And those teams were typically much more balanced until they got a lead. I still have my doubts that the passing game will be anything more than support/keeping defenses honest.

Jones is a bust
Camp body. Won’t sniff the roster.
Rookie minimum salary and $0.00 signing bonus? $0.00 guaranteed? For the 90th spot on the roster?
This is sure to have a profound effect on the direction of our season.

Did Colbert want to kill Ben?
Seems the team has the ability to assemble an o-line that doesnt have a roller-disco blocking dummy at center. One guy in charge leaves and things change bigly.

Helps to have money to spend in FA when you are not paying a QB 15%+ of your salary cap.
Not just FA money, but asset allocation in the draft and casting a wide net through pro scouting can also help with the OL. My hope is we're only just seeing the beginning of that approach this offseason. Takes a little extra to prime the pump, but once it's going, it gets easier to maintain the pipeline.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

He has been an utter failure as an NFL player. He seems a nice enough fellow. I think he could serve as a short yardage FB if needed he pulls pretty well and is good at zeroing in on a target. Holding his ground is not a strength of his. They have fixed that mistake and the guy is probably as good as cut this year (maybe they practice squad him????).langer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 2:28 pmSure but Kendrick Green.stillthere wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 7:13 amHelps to have money to spend in FA when you are not paying a QB 15%+ of your salary cap.
Every team in the league has complete whiffs in the draft at all picks whether they are high and low.
Bush one of the biggest IMO.

KG wasn't exactly set up for success by the braintrust, either. Came into the league as mid rounder being asked to play a position he only started at like, what, 4x? Was a left guard all of college? And had Klemm as his fucking coach? And so he gets drafted and as a ROOKIE, the braintrust says, "Play this position you're totally new to at the NFL level, thanks. Klemm, here, will sort you out." I'm not saying KG is a good player, but the Steelers kinda fucked him.stillthere wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 8:15 pmHe has been an utter failure as an NFL player. He seems a nice enough fellow.
