Yeah he can talk a big game but it’s up to him as HC to straighten George out. We’ve seen this shit before.

I sure hope Tomlin doesn’t discipline him
This would be a good time to set an example that…..
It’s ok to go on social media to complain about your role on the team
And not face any consequences for the immature outburst, but instead be complimented for your passion
That’s my HC
Goddamn we are all lucky

Pray tell what that entails exactly."Like breathing, it's easy," Tomlin said. "I know it's a cute story for you guys, but it is a pebble in my shoe, to be quite honest with you, in terms of the things that I have to do in an effort to get this group ready to play. This week our focus is on the Green Bay Packers and what we're all going to do in this football game, and I can't state it any plainer than that. It's like reality television, the way you guys follow social media and write stories about it."
"Work harder not smarter" - Mike Tomlin
I usually see a team that's not ready to play.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
This will be a non-issue for Jibbs until Pickens ask for a trade, has a major meltdown, dogs it on routes, and/or finally leaves via FA.
Then he’ll be a victim again because the offense is lacking a WR
Poor Jibbs. It just isn’t fair he can’t manage to find an OC or QB able to get this talented kid the ball.
Imagine what Ben would have done with this guy.

I'm not that worried about Pickens.
I'm sure Tomlin talked to him and while there are a lot of things I hate about Tomlin, he's good getting his players to play hard for him.
As bad as shit got with AB, he still produced at a ridiculous rate for the Steelers, consistently for many years.
I think Pickens will be fine.

Does ANYONE HERE believe the Steelers will fork over what will likely be a MASSIVE contract for a wr ??
If Pickens agent is affiliated with any major representation firm HE (the agent) knew there was a 90% + chance there was no way the Steelers would C2 Pickens the moment the draft pick was announced

Pickens isn't the first receiver to "pout" when not getting the ball enough, and he won't be the last...every receiver is open on every route they run if you ask them, this is a non issue imo, he still plays hard and blocks his ass off when asked to, just something for guys on the interweb to bitch about more than anything.

He wants the ball. I’m not sure what the big deal is unless it’s yet again you losers trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill
But anyways. I’ll point by point this…
1) The Steelers have a history of paying a receiver they choose to keep with a big contract. Did it for AB. Did it for Ward. Just gave DJ a new deal. If Pickens is a good teammate and worthy they could do so again. Doesn’t mean they will, but it’s not without precedent they’ve kept receivers they’ve drafted.
2) What his agent thought the moment Pickens was drafted had no bearing on what happens when his contract is up. His agent will seek as big a contract as he can get so he gets the largest commission he can get. Duh.
3) I’ve played team sports. I’ve also served in the United States Marine Corps. A place where teamwork and knowing (and doing) your job is a matter of life & death. You are out of your depth if you try to retort here.
4) I deal with people effectively each and every day I go to work. Whites, blacks, punjab, Mexican, Muslim, Republican, democrat, gay and straight. My whole livelihood is based on having to “dealing with people effectively”. And as a 24 year veteran and top producer at a major firm I do pretty well for myself. Again, you are out of your depth here Mr. “Day Trader”. You can’t see it but I’m laughing at you.
5) I have no problem with him wanting the ball. I want him to want the ball. Duh. I also don’t want him creating strife by distancing himself from the team and his QB while crying publicly to “free me”.
He’s a pro now. Needs to act like one.
I’m on his side actually. You are just too dumb to realize as much. What I don’t like is him crying publicly about shit if he hasn’t made multiple attempts to rectify this internally. Keep it in house.
Something anyone who’s ever had to “effectively deal with people” would understand.
Has he gone to his HC? Has he gone to his OC? Has he gone to his QB? Has it done this extensively to no avail?
If so, THEN it might be time to air dirty laundry. However, I doubt that is the case at this point given the short time frame.
If his first course of action was to cry like a baby on instagram then he’s in the wrong already.
Again though, I’m on his side in that he needs the ball more. So you and I want the same thing here.
You are arguing with me because…. See where I started this post.
I’ve kicked your ass all day. It’s evident. All can see.
Now go lick your wounds, have someone wipe your fat ass, and then try to not be so fucking lame tomorrow.
A feat I doubt you’ll achieve.
If all else fails you can start a dumb thread and then reply to yourself. Like you do frequently. Like a lame ass loser.

Explain what’s so funny about my comments.
Don’t just laugh. State your case.
I mean, we all know it’ll turn out with me pushing your shit in yet again but do expand on your silly emojis.
And I know you disdain the military. Cowards unfit and:/or unwilling to serve often have that chip on their shoulder.
Plus, you are a self confessed fat fuck. Not exactly cut out for the Marines.
And the work stuff?? Do you even have a job “day trader”?
Or just supplement your social security/disability by trading for a few penny’s & dollars?

Fair point. However if you are being honest you have to acknowledge that has been extremely rare and likely given more momentum due to the fact Roethlisberger was in his prime AND the Steelers pretty much had damn little else at that point as far as WR goesJams wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 5:10 amWe made AB the highest paid WR in the NFL.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 1:23 amHe’s on his rookie deal955876 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 11:46 pmThis will be a non-issue for Jibbs until Pickens ask for a trade, has a major meltdown, dogs it on routes, and/or finally leaves via FA.

Do you really think it’s likely the Steelers will even come close to keeping Pickens ?? I think we all know the answer to that

I've oft-written that Mike Tomlin's greatest asset is an "exceptioally well-developed line of bullshit." i listened to his presser yesterday, and where he wasn't full of shit was his statement to the effect of "You guys worry too much about stuff on social media."
He obv has a rapport with Pickens, Pickens is fuckin' driven to be great, and I think Tomlin is handling him right. And...as KC pointed out with AB, nutso as he was, he was always cited as the hardest working player on the team, and produced right through his final game as a Steelers....check the stats....without looking was somewhat like 13 catches for about 2 bills in yardage and 2 scores.

He has to manage Pickens until Kenny can contribute like a quality backup and Canada can direct a pro offense. Good luck with that.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

But for me, a pebble in my shoe is really f'n annoying. So much so that I can't take more than a few steps without addressing it.

This story is such a nothingburger. Just fodder for the malcontents to try to shit on WR1 who is commanding double teams and opening up the offense for others or the future HOF coach who is keeping this team afloat while finding its identity. Most of you have some brown stuff running down your leg…

I have a suspicion that Tomlin handled the situation by ensuring that ABs 5 for 50 streak continued for 35 straight games by any means necessary.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 11:58 amI've oft-written that Mike Tomlin's greatest asset is an "exceptioally well-developed line of bullshit." i listened to his presser yesterday, and where he wasn't full of shit was his statement to the effect of "You guys worry too much about stuff on social media."

They force fed AB the ball to the detriment of the offense as a whole at times. Pickens is not Antonio Brown. He hasn't really done shit in this league and yet I suspect it will be another year of this before he actually is demanding a trade.
