Lowest scoring Steelers team in 53 years
Lowest scoring Steelers team in 53 years
The 2023 Steelers are averaging 16 points a game.
16 TDs on offense in 12 games. 2 others by the defense.
This is the lowest scoring Steelers team in 53 years. You have to all the way back to 1970, Bradshaw's rookie year coming off a 1-13 inaugural season for Chuck Noll, to find a team that scored less. This is despite having a guy in Jaylen Warren who is leading the NFL in yards a carry. He is literally the most effective player at his position in the NFL.
Wholesale changes are needed. You can't justify bringing back the same QB, any of the same offensive staff, and the same WR and TE room. Sorry, life is tough in the Not For Long NFL. Dems the breaks.

16/12 = 1.33
We had 1.00 today, almost at our average
Hard to complain about the consistency
Attrition football doesn’t require lots of points

Is New England outright tanking for Williams or Maye at this point?
I don't even think we can lose that game Thursday night. Gonna be a glorious 13-9 win.

Almost as bad as we are with our faux 7 wins

Boz from 55 with one second left in OT
We win 3-0

So are the Cardinals. They are quite tanking. And they destroyed us today.

In modern history it's actually tied with a few other 3-0 games, going back to 1993 and back through the 60s. 5 or 6 games ttal. There hasn't been a 3-0 game since that one against the Dolphins. A 0-0 tie hasn't happened since WWII in 1943.
Oh please oh please oh please let it happen.

The Steelers need to win this game. I don't care how ugly it looks.
JUST WIN.
JUST WIN.
Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS.

Over the past two weeks we essentially had 3 points in both games through 3 quarters (last week the TD came with about 2 mins left in the 3rd qtr)

Nope, winning a few here and there to close out this year won't accomplish shit.
Just lose, baby!

If you can’t beat a 2 win team to help solidify your playoff chances this late into the season you aren’t good enough to beat the teams you’ll face in the playoffs.
Yesterday was a perfect example of why so many here dump on Jibbs.
This happens all the time. Always lacking focus against the really bad teams. Then after the game we hear the players saying how they took them lightly or were distracted by other things (Chicago national anthem nonsense).
A coach can tell if his team’s head isn’t right during g the week. Unless his head isn’t right either.
Likley the case. Jibbs must have spent the week puffing his chest, struttin, & peacocking all over the place. His team followed suit and were once again ill prepared vs. an awful team.
Now had this been the last game of the season with no chance to make the playoffs and we were sitting at 7-8-1 there is no doubt Jibbs would be laser focused on preserving NHALS.
But sitting at 7-4 at home against a 2 win team with a chance to strengthen your playoff chances & seeding???
Nah.
There is a reason teams like to blow other teams out when they can. That’s because it sharpens their skills. Teams could easily turtle when up big but they don’t. They keep scoring to perfect what it is they do.
We never do that. And as a result always in dogfights with bad teams.
We are a bad team.
Another reason why when Jibbs lapdogs chirp about how great he is (usually based on latest win) we push back.
11-0 team was a fraud.
This team sitting at 7-4 with two 2 win teams coming to town a fraud as well.
Now we just need his lapdogs to come tell us how lucky we are to have this man coaching this team still..

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
What will that accomplish?Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:03 amThe Steelers need to win this game. I don't care how ugly it looks.
JUST WIN.
To position us for an embarrassing loss in the playoffs?
No thanks
The Steelers menu all season has been running a special on Embarrassment with a side salad of agony.
I’m full.
Fuck this team.
Haha I was at Heinz for the 3-0 MNF shiteshow against the Phins in 2007. Would be fitting for NHALS to have the two longest 0-0 games in NFL historytbsteel wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 3:26 am

Post-merger NFL history…yes…the Steelers/Dolphins game is one of six that ended 3-0.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 3:50 amI’m fairly (?) certain the Dolphins monsoon game is the lowest scoring game in nfl history
Including the NFL’s entire history, there have been five 2-0 games and 73 0-0 games.
But post-merger is probably the best comparison. The league is in its 104th season…54th post-merger season…so there have been more post-merger seasons than pre-merger seasons now.

He's (Tomlin) actually got one of the best winning percentages against sub-.500 teams of any NFL head coach this century and, just for fun since his more venomous critics only ever compare him his two esteemed predecessors, he's within decimal-point range of both in this category:
• Chuck Noll: .725 (137-52)
• Tomlin: .724 (104-39-2)
• Bill Cowher: .723 (102-39)
All coaches lose games they should win.
Well, this coach has a special knack for dropping games late in the season against the absolute worst teams in the league.
And those games keep us out of the playoffs or put us as a lower seed.
It’s partly why we’ve won but 3 playoff games in over a decade.
But hey, if you wanna crown his ass go right ahead.
This team has gotten progressively worse the longer he’s been in charge.
It’s funny how the Jibbaroo crowd says stats don’t matter (only wins) and yet when they run to his defense they post his stats.
Well, I want playoff wins. Not a stat showing how he’s dominated bad teams.
It’s a short season and all games matter. He always finds a way to lay an egg against that one team we should absolutely beat.
And I’m going to lay a majority of that success you posted at the feet of Ben Roethlisberger and not Jibbs thank you.

Also, Bill Cowher did that with mostly medicore QBs until his last 3 years with Ben.
Jibbs did that by having Ben all but 3 years.
Huge difference.
