The Sad Reality of the Art ll Steelers 'Standard'

I'm not a Madden promoter, but it doesn't matter. If a monkey manages to type out the truth, it's still the truth ....
Bad quarterback, bad coach, no leaders, no hope beyond a first-round playoff loss. (Bad center, too: Mason Cole snaps the ball as inaccurately as Pickett throws it.)

That’s not pessimistic. It’s honest.

Most NFL franchises in this predicament would be considering their future at quarterback and coach. But that’s not how the Steelers operate.

The Steelers will continue to, at best, never really accomplish much. The Steelers will remain broken.

In plain sight. Without much truth being told. That’s the new Steelers standard.

It’s great. Pitt media is a bunch of pussies. Here in the Philly market, they take no prisoners.

For example, Kenny Pickett stinks. Anybody that doesn’t point-blank say that is sugar-coating.

Pickett is no work in progress. He’s rotten, and it’s in plain sight.

In 24 NFL starts, Pickett has thrown for multiple touchdowns once. For 300 yards or more once. He’s posted a passer rating of 100 or better once. He has left games injured four times. This season, Pickett has six touchdown passes in 12 games.

Pickett’s stats are inexcusably poor, he’s brittle, he plays scared, his accuracy reeks, and he’s regressing. He’s a first-round bust.
Receiver must’ve slipped.

the Steelers were the butt of jokes in the locker room of one of the NFL’s worst teams.
YOU SUCK, TOMLIN!

Local media other than Madden starting to change their tune.

Hell in this article, Starkey implicates himself and admits that he has been one of the compliant local media that helps fuel the Steeler Delusion.

Let’s get the chant started for the commanders to clean house after the bye week.

We can give Tomlin and we can grab Eric Bienamy

Ponder that

Jibbs is the Dunce’s binky. His security blanket.

Dunce is a lazy owner. He wants to maintain some status quo he foolishly believes he needs to maintain so he does nothing.

Jibbs looks good and the media fellates him at every turn.

So Dunce doesn’t have to do anything. If he became responsible to hire a new coach he’d have scrutiny on himself.

Sticking with Jibbs is the easy way out.

And he will continue to take it.

Since their last Super Bowl appearance, 13 years ago, the Steelers have fewer playoff wins than the Houston Texans.

Since the beginning of the 2021 season — a span of 46 games — the Steelers are minus-116 in point differential.

Since the beginning of 2019, the Steelers have been outscored by opponents in four of five seasons.
Anyone see any of this changing in the next five years?

Stats are for losers. We have a HOF HC and should thank Dunce each and every day for retaining him.

You're right. And BTW this bit that Langer quoted is from the PG article that Jeemie referenced .... Could the truth about MT slowly, finally be dawning on people beyond the asshats of this esteemed website? (as Swiss might say ;) )

Maybe I'm the dunce for not noticing it during the course of his career, but what in the GD fuck is our best player doing on the punt return team?

Especially when said player needs as much rest as possible.

Coach Mike is the recipient of Accomplishment Inflation.

He gets credit for shit he didn't do, and won't do, and can't do.

I think that's at the core of a lot of the criticisms. The idea that the he is judged the same as Cowher or Noll is false. He's not.

People might say he's judged harsher, maybe by some, but ESPN is saying he's the Coach of the Year with this trash. He gets credit for shit he didn't do.

That false consciousness is crippling this team.

It’s called pretending everything is ok

This franchise is acting like 2011 SB45, just before that they’re the king of the hill

They’ve been sliding down that hill since - common denominator- Mediocre Mike Tomlin

Let’s force the sports media if you will, to stop pretending

It’s impossible but people have to stop going to games

When one of the ILBs left game with injury TJ watt took his place on special teams.

This after TJ himself had left the game and returned from getting dinged.

And was still in the game long after the outcome had been decided.

More game day dumbfuckery from our esteemed HC.

Another year, another scathing indictment of Tomlin, another conclusion:

if...then...his seat will start getting warm.

The blueprint of a Mike Tomlin season:

Pre-season champs
weeks 1-3: Slow start
weeks 4-6: rock bottom
weeks 7-8: whatever, I'm done with this team
weeks 9-12: pull off a few unexpected wins
weeks 13-15: holy shit we might actually make the playoffs
weeks 16 and forward: well, we didnt have a losing season, so there's that.
