Pickett practicing...

...and slight possibility he plays Saturday.

At least according to this article.

If it reveals how much he sucks in an expedited manner, then I’m all for it.

Pure desperation by Tomlin to salvage his meaningless streak if he plays. The team is going nowhere and they shouldn't rush him back from a surgically repaired ankle especially with this concussion history. Limited movement is the last thing he needs.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

But but we desperately need his 0.6 per game TD% and those 125 yards he’ll put up.

His lack of development has been the biggest stain on the season.

Hopefully the new offensive coordinator can do something to get more out of him.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

If you think Tomlin is rushing Pickett back to save his streak of non-losing seasons, we're in much worse shape than I thought.

Iffy arm, poor pocket presence, doesn’t process, check down Charlie.

I remember Shanahan pushing RGME bacl early and his spindly little slender legs couldn’t take it. Pretty much ended that douchebags career. Unfortunately he’s in the media now.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Imagine you have a kicker who misses a couple of mid 30yd FGs and a PAT. He then happens to hit a 48 yarder as the time expires to put his team up 1.

Did he help or hurt the team? What if he does this a bunch of times? Help or hurt?

You still hoping for that magical playoff run I see.

Good for you. I’m a bit more of a realist but to each his own.

Kinda hoping Mason tosses 3 tuddies for 300+

That would be pretty funny

Tomlin's whole game plan is for the QB not to turn over the ball and win it with a 4th quarter drive or two, basically castrating the QB for 3 and a half quarters. Pickett is the only one that's been able to do it since Ben. Even this only works if the defense gets multiple huge plays by their stars. No matter if you like the QBs or anyone on the offense, they have to overcome the coaching to win. I still have hope for Pickett if he's not already fucked in the head and physically by these morons and their backups might be good enough to be backups but no one is turning this coaching staff into contenders. If what he did to Ben and the QBs since doesn't make that clear, I don't know what will. The offense has been complete garbage for at least a half decade.

Tomlin is desperate. Pickett is proving to be fragile and Tomlin still wants to rush him back. I think he rushed him back from the ribs and I think that hurt Pickett more than we realize. He got even more conservative after that.

The only game Pickett looked like the possible answer was Cincy when he was healthy and he was allowed to throw on early downs. Tomlin is hoping for more of that "magic", but at what cost? If the kid can't move, he'll be crushed. Makes no sense.

I remember feeling bad for the kid tearing up his knee. I feel bad for most people that do having went thru it. (Exception= Marsha Brady tore his ACL I called it, then laughed like a little school girl)

He just has his ankle surgically repaired. This week would be rushing him back. He's already had concussion problems and been somewhat injury prone. He's not Ben. Bringing him back at less than 100% would be stupid especially with the state of this team. It's a disaster right now. Worst possible time to rush him back.
