We have signed LB Markus Golden to a one-year contract.
Why not.

There's nothing behind Watt, Highsmith, & Herbig.

Actually, I think Moon & Perales have been pretty good but Perales hurt his knee, so that might have necessitated the move.

This is fine, the guy is a known commodity and by all accounts a liked teammate. Allow the young guys to battle out 1 practice squad spot, unless one is a special teams demon.

If (I know, big IF) Holcomb recovers this season, the LB room of 9 could be a real strength of this D and STs.

LOLB: Watt, Golden
LILB: Queen, Holcomb
RILB: Roberts, P. Wilson, Matakevich
ROLB: Highsmith, Herbig

PS: Robinson, Moon/Johnson

With a nice combination of ages and contract statuses as well.

I have only caught a few pieces of reports from camp. But I am hearing that P. Wilson is a face in the fan playmaking LB.

Golden moves the needle…none
If this JAG takes reps from Herbig, then it’s a minus.
Why is it that Steelers can’t let go of their castoffs?

Not one other team found room for him. Agreed that Herbig, who looks like he has a real future, should be ahead of him.

Not another team found room for Clowney last season. Clowney had a career year for the Ravens.

Golden is a nice depth piece and cheap. Over 17 game season that is valuable.

Steelers are already messing with some defensive fronts with Watt, Highsmith, and Herbig on the field at the same time. Herbig has been too impactful to not get more work.

Right on.

Two LB’s already go down. This is a logical signing for depth. May not even mKe the roster. I have zero issues with this signing.
