Isaac Semalo Being Evaluated for Pec Injury
Possible torn pectoral at practice. If so that’s a year off for him.

Small favor: can we try and not link to SteelersDepot unless it's for content that's original to them (like an article they wrote and researched)? They are antagonistic and disrespectful toward us and blatantly rip off others for clicks. Thank you.Jobu wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:50 pmhttps://steelersdepot.com/2024/08/schef ... -practice/

Initial tests showed that Steelers guard Isaac Seumalo did not suffer a season-ending pectoral injury. The team still is weighing how long he could miss but as one source said, “We dodged a bullet.”

They really need him for the first half of the season... that's where the majority of winnable games are. This team needs to have 7 wins in the first 9 if they hope to get a playoff spot. 6 would make it a very tough climb. 5 would require miracles in the last two months. 4-5 in the first 10 and a top 10 draft pick not out of the question.

This. Any injury that hurts our running game the first part of the season is just plain shitty news.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 7:31 pmThey really need him for the first half of the season... that's where the majority of winnable games are. On the other hand the more key injuries we suffer, the more likelier we end up with a top 5 pick ...just saying

1-I did not know any of that
2-It was simply the first story I came across regarding the IS injury.
3-I’ll try to do better
So, do you put McCormick in at LG
or
Fautanu at LG and Jones at RT
I suppose
Jones at LG and Fautanu at RT is possible as well
Either way, it's going to be a really young line, and likely a lot of growing pains early on.

So that our expectations are in line...
The Steelers are starting the season with:
A new Starting QB
Probably 3 new starters from last year, all of whom are rookies, and one of whom is coming off injury
Only 2 returning WRs from last year, one of whom got 20 targets in 17 games
A WR expected to add value to the position group also coming off injury
A starting RB or at least 1A injured
A TE-centric offense with a QB who doesn't throw to TEs nor to the middle of the field
A TE-centric offense with 4 TEs who averaged roughly 1.5 targets per game last year and a TE1 with concussion history
A HC who is doubling and tripling down on attrition, TOP, keep it close, "Any drive that ends in a kick is great" football.
A rookie NCB with zero depth behind him at the position
A downgrade in cover ILB from where they started last year (Holcomb and Alexander)
Wafer-thin EDGE depth and a starter coming off injury
A suspect IDL, especially vs the run and who's best player has one foot in retirement
Chances are really good they will get off to yet another slow start... which will be fatal this year if it happens.

I am wondering why almost everyone on here thinks we will be terrible this year. If Russell Wilson can at least play as well as last year he should do OK with a decent running game and good TE’s. Our defense should be improved and the second half of the season Cam Sutton will be a boost in the slot. I really like that +135 money line in Atlanta on the 8th. Good to be back on Steeler Fury posting. Go Steelers!!
Win 7 of the first 9?! And I want an orgy with the original Victoria's Secret Angels.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 7:31 pmThey really need him for the first half of the season... that's where the majority of winnable games are. If they're really a contender, that's the kind of start they need. That last 8 games is a death march.R_S wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 2:44 amWin 7 of the first 9?! You forgot to add the HC got a 3 year extension so he will be super motivated to get better and a new OC who has a billion dollars in the bank and doesn't really need to work so he too will be super motivated.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 8:54 pmSo that our expectations are in line...

A blessing in disguise?
IMHO, Neither Herbig or Seumalo ever impressed and are average at best.
Could be there are two possibly three replacements on the roster already.
Anderson seems to have developed into a game day starter at OG.
McCormick is a dark horse But, is quite unpolished at this point. Still an option.
The return of Leglue is in my opinion someone that can come in and play.
Yes, All Unproven at this point. So is their Potential.
