Watt not in running for DPOY this year?
TJ's had a bit of a down year so far.
24 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 4 FF.
He's currently tied for 7th in sacks. Dexter Lawrence, Will McDonald, Aidan Hutchinson (IR'd), Will Anderson, Kyle Van Noy and Trey Hendrickson are all head of him. He is #1 in FF though.
I think unless the Steelers start moving TJ around he will continue to get doubled and may struggle to finish the season with more than 12 sacks.
Why don't the Steelers move their best defensive player around so he's not so easy to plan for?

They actually had him rushing from the opposite side 3-4 times against the Giants

Hutchinson isn't winning anything because he's done for the year, but he'd have been the obvious favorite had he stayed healthy.
Lawrence and McDonald will need to post other worldly numbers to win DPOY because their teams are straight ass.
Hendrickson and Anderson are (slightly) ahead in sacks but trail in literally every other category.
There's no chance Van Noy keeps up his pace.
Also, something else to consider with Watt....The Steelers haven't played a division game yet:
16 sacks in 14 career games vs Baltimore
12 sacks in 13 career games vs Cincinnati
17 sacks in 12 career games vs Cleveland

Of course he iisn’t. Guy has never made a play that matters.
Heard that somewhere.

saw a tweetter somewhere in which TJ and or AH talked about moving around and they had to work on rushing from the opposite side more during bye week.

Watt was responsible for all those holding calls because of the double teams.
Using sacks as the only metric is like using INTs as the only metric for DBs.
Deion was effective because you couldn't throw to half the field.

Same with Minkah. Of course he's not getting on the stat sheet much. Teams are mostly staying away from him.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 4:32 pmWatt was responsible for all those holding calls because of the double teams.

I've seen a couple comments lately saying Elliot is playing better than Minkah, presumably because Elliot has been making the most "splash" plays.
No shit, Minkah has mostly been playing center field this season.
People need to learn that you don't judge a players' performance by the number of times the announcer says his name.
The Minkah thing is interesting to me. I don't like how he is utilized as this single high safety. A last resort.Louis Lipps Service wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 9:39 pmSame with Minkah. The guy is too talented to just play free safety/centerfielder playing deep. I damn near want to draft another free safety and allow him to play in the box or move around the way Polamalu did.
I get why Cool Shades has Minkah back there, but I don't like it.

That stat only matters if your name is Myles Garrett.
