Tronic was the first internet friend I lost. I remember it hitting me in the feels and made me stop and realize I never met him but it did feel like I lost a friend. RIP Tronic.

Was twice with coach priatko postgame, thrillseeker, meeting up with dick lebeau and his family in the Steelers reception area. First time was a Monday nighter against KC in 2012 with a pregame monsoon....soaked. The second was the 2014 playoff versus ravens....terrible fuckin game. Pregamed with jizz mop. Was it one of those?

Hahahahaha yup. That dreadful KC monsoon. Was soaked and have never been so cold in my life. Still reference that game when describing cold games, and still to this day have never been that cold. Was miserable the entire game. My buddy cheered the entire game and tapped my standing/yelling and said,”dude, are you even having fun?” I said “fuck no, I’m freezing.”

Thought I was good pre-game, grabbed a cheap poncho, rode the boat over from Station Square and stood in line at gate A. Prob an hour of rain standing in line and some dumbass behind me pulled the front of his garbage he was wearing out straight and flat, tipped it downward and it was like a pitcher of water dumped down the backs of my calf’s and into my boots. If looks could kill, his would have exploded. I said are you fucking kidding me as he stood there mouth open and apologized. I started to get cold from that point on.


I intended to mention Willie Parker’s “take away the long runs….” Comment In my original post but forgot.

I too remember fast Willie running all over Buffalo in that game Swiss as I was in the house in Buffalo, drunk, Lower lvl end zone talking shit to every Buffalo fan yelling at me to sit down and shut up. Good times. My antics that night would have got me walked out of the stadium. lol.

Second time was in Foxboro for the 55-31 beat down the Patsies gave us, but we had an epic tailgate. As you said, the best time I ever had after a Steelers loss. I still remember the post you made after describing it all. Have you added that to the manifesto?

And, the third and last time (I think) was the meetup at the Cask 'n' Flagon across from Fenway with B2B for the 2014 Indy game where Ben played out of his mind. We had that huge room all to ourselves. I picked up B2B in Jamestown, RI, and on our way up there was a SNAFU as the bar we were supposed to meet at where the hags gave us pizza two years prior was closed. Realized I didn't have your number nor to B2B, and we ended up communicating through the Steelerfury private messages. B2B had the beginning of the game on his phone, and we arrived sometime late in the first quarter I think. What a game that was!

Yeah, the steeler bar in Brighton closed cuz somebody fell down the stairs, was seriously injured, and they just sorta left the kid there then tried to cover it up!! The foxboro experience was good..,I think it was your brother in law saying I was looking to get stabbed wearing the Bernard pollard fan club t (post that pic of you can, 58)...and it was like me, you and B2B had a private suite right next to Fenway...looking at upcoming games, maybe the finale against the bungals on January 5?? Next browns game is a possibility

I think I found the site sometime around 99 or 2000 as I remember going to an internet cafe in Salzburg to check in and that trip was in 2000 - didn't realize I was that close to the beginning of it all. I've had the same name the entire time as back then I was helping run the fan club in Minnesota in a fun but kind of scary little run down bar.

The only one I've met in person from either site was JL58 - we connected at the Steelers game at Lambeau Field in Dec 2013. I also PM-d back and forth with Swiss back around 2004 or 05 when I was heading back to Da Burgh for a game and he was thinking of going to the same game but ultimately didn’t make it. He sent me to Vinnie’s for some pizza so at least I got that

What a weekend that was! Right before Christmas, and I'm still amazed my wife let me fly out to Green Bay for that! Not only did I have the honor of meeting you and your lovely wife Laura, but I stayed with an old Navy shipmate who I hadn't seen in 25 years. We still call that game "The Snow Globe Game." Just looked up Steelers bars, and there one in Brighton called Cityside American Tavern at 1960 Beacon St. I think this is the same place but a different name/ownership. Let me know.

I never could ibefore have imagined there were so many terms to describe someone being gay. After I disclosed that, it became the name he was called in the daily confrontations to his dismay.

I never met anyone as I just started making annual treks to the Steel City in 2023 as my partner (4 years)) is a football fan - her father played in the NFL & was a superstar in the CFL. That was when the CFL was on a higher level than today. But I spoke to FC on the phone & acquired hockey tickets for FC & his brother (who posted occasionally on Stillers) but the trip was cancelled due to family illness.
