Hahahahaha yup. That dreadful KC monsoon. Was soaked and have never been so cold in my life. Still reference that game when describing cold games, and still to this day have never been that cold. Was miserable the entire game. My buddy cheered the entire game and tapped my standing/yelling and said,”dude, are you even having fun?” I said “fuck no, I’m freezing.”swissvale72 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:02 amWas twice with coach priatko postgame, thrillseeker, meeting up with dick lebeau and his family in the Steelers reception area. Had a Beer with Ed. Good guy.
Was supposed to meet up with Swiss himself but couldn’t get the timing right pre-game. Post game he ditched me. LoL, couldn’t tell you the game but you ended up in the locker room post game with your high school football coach iirc. Did you converse with Dick L. ? My memory is shit.
Had so much fun and so many laughs at stillers-forums I was dumbfounded when it crashed. No shit, I missed it so much over a yr later, when I searched it, I bought the domain rights from GoDaddy.com Had every intent to kick that place back online, alas never did and stopped paying for it 2-3yrs later. LoL’s from Dongsacks, to the Xnormal or whatever vids. Good lord that place gave me so many laughs. HI5’s Asian couch monsters to Conway Twitty’s Do.
Tronic was the first internet friend I lost. I remember it hitting me in the feels and made me stop and realize I never met him but it did feel like I lost a friend. RIP Tronic.
Thought I was good pre-game, grabbed a cheap poncho, rode the boat over from Station Square and stood in line at gate A. Prob an hour of rain standing in line and some dumbass behind me pulled the front of his garbage he was wearing out straight and flat, tipped it downward and it was like a pitcher of water dumped down the backs of my calf’s and into my boots. If looks could kill, his would have exploded. I said are you fucking kidding me as he stood there mouth open and apologized. I started to get cold from that point on.
I intended to mention Willie Parker’s “take away the long runs….” Comment In my original post but forgot.
I too remember fast Willie running all over Buffalo in that game Swiss as I was in the house in Buffalo, drunk, Lower lvl end zone talking shit to every Buffalo fan yelling at me to sit down and shut up. Good times. My antics that night would have got me walked out of the stadium. lol.

I was there at least since 2000. I just checked and Trenches posted the Pixburgh Christmas Carol which I read to my friends here in Baltimore that year.
I also remember the Gildong Report the "wide loop rush around the horn of Africa" and the like.

I've been here since '01... same name throughout. Never forget FCs pregame write ups. Especially remember one during the playoffs where he pointed out where a team tipped off run/pass. Sure enough, it was spot on.

FC said a lot of dumb shit and made a lot of shit up out of thin air. The ball washing he received for his anal-sis was something to behold.
I remember him arguing that Aaron Smith was never doubled and outplayed by Kiesel on the road to the XL. Troy Polamalu in his prime was the third best safety in his own division. List could go on.

I think the first time we met up was that Steelers bar that subsequently closed in Brighton? Forgot the name.. Giants game in 2012 and the old hags gave us pizza! Not Vinny Pie quality but not bad.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:21 pmHow many of yinz go back to stillers.com, prior to the founding of this esteemed website in 06?

Second time was in Foxboro for the 55-31 beat down the Patsies gave us, but we had an epic tailgate. As you said, the best time I ever had after a Steelers loss. I still remember the post you made after describing it all. Have you added that to the manifesto?
And, the third and last time (I think) was the meetup at the Cask 'n' Flagon across from Fenway with B2B for the 2014 Indy game where Ben played out of his mind. We had that huge room all to ourselves. I picked up B2B in Jamestown, RI, and on our way up there was a SNAFU as the bar we were supposed to meet at where the hags gave us pizza two years prior was closed. Realized I didn't have your number nor to B2B, and we ended up communicating through the Steelerfury private messages. B2B had the beginning of the game on his phone, and we arrived sometime late in the first quarter I think. What a game that was!

Yeah, the steeler bar in Brighton closed cuz somebody fell down the stairs, was seriously injured, and they just sorta left the kid there then tried to cover it up!! What a weekend that was! Right before Christmas, and I'm still amazed my wife let me fly out to Green Bay for that! Not only did I have the honor of meeting you and your lovely wife Laura, but I stayed with an old Navy shipmate who I hadn't seen in 25 years. We still call that game "The Snow Globe Game." I still give myself hell for having to go take a whiz and missing Cortez Allen pick sixing Matt Flynn to put the Steelers up 31-21. How is that 11 years ago?Stillerz Bar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 2:04 amI think I found the site sometime around 99 or 2000 as I remember going to an internet cafe in Salzburg to check in and that trip was in 2000 - didn't realize I was that close to the beginning of it all. I think Stillers started their message boards in 1999, so only a true legend could’ve been poasting there in 1997.
The only one I've met in person from either site was JL58 - we connected at the Steelers game at Lambeau Field in Dec 2013. I also PM-d back and forth with Swiss back around 2004 or 05 when I was heading back to Da Burgh for a game and he was thinking of going to the same game but ultimately didn’t make it. He sent me to Vinnie’s for some pizza so at least I got that
I remember all the Spiker drama and Mill’s previews of each game. There were some good times on that site but it sure spiraled out of control so I’m glad I found my way over here. All of you Asshats have been a huge part of my Steelers experience for close to 25 years … amazing!!

Unfortunately, the Bungles game on 1/5 won't work as I'll be recovering from minor surgery (nothing serious) then. December 8 vs. Cleveland is good for me. Just looked up Steelers bars, and there one in Brighton called Cityside American Tavern at 1960 Beacon St. I think this is the same place but a different name/ownership. Let me know.

Same names but now just the initials. Funniest day ever the 40 page or however long Cowher To The Chiefs thread. I never could ibefore have imagined there were so many terms to describe someone being gay. Another fun day when my daughter who would sneak on stillers to read the hilarity & heard me describe Ron's new screen name as Genghis Ron & thought I said Gender wRONg. Long time no see, guys...sorry I bagged out without ever announcing the Steeler Score Game winner.
Medical issues with my father-in-law kept me from being online much, except for Twitter, late last year and the first part of this year.
Anyhow, member of Stillers I think in 2003- joined right as Ben was drafted. Loved the articles, which were top notch back then...Mill...Trap...Fury (he had a different name there). Then stayed to watch Mill...and a lot of the gang...spiral out of control on stillers, stillers-forums, until things stabilized here on Steelerfury.
And in case you guys wondered, SteelerAl is still top-notch at shameless self-promotion...he's the best lawyer West Palm Beach has to offer.
Says so right here: https://www.ambrosinolawfirm.com/index.php
He ran for judge once too...https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/new ... 863884007/ Finished in fourth place out of five...https://enr.electionsfl.org/PAL/2495/Summary/
Good times...
I totally agree. Jeemie once was so kind to mail me dvds of the Chuck Knoll Steelers Superbowl games. I forwarded copies to KC & Ron..

I never met anyone as I just started making annual treks to the Steel City in 2023 as my partner (4 years)) is a football fan - her father played in the NFL & was a superstar in the CFL. That was when the CFL was on a higher level than today. But I spoke to FC on the phone & acquired hockey tickets for FC & his brother (who posted occasionally on Stillers) but the trip was cancelled due to family illness.Stillerz Bar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 2:04 amI think I found the site sometime around 99 or 2000 as I remember going to an internet cafe in Salzburg to check in and that trip was in 2000 - didn't realize I was that close to the beginning of it all.
