Things I don't give a fuck about
Just a couple...
1. Who's gonna be MVP....all the ESPN morning shows were talking about yesterday.
2. Getting sick of the Kelces....specifically Jason Kelce being everywhere...and now...his wife has a fuckin podcast.
That's about it.

well...
that's a good list to start with.
throw in Mahomes.
He has that sideline move down pat now.
Run to the sideline, heading out of bounds,
then turn upfield, as defenders are.
A. assuming the QB is going out of bounds.
B. can't touch a QB running out of bounds
C. fearing a penalty.
This needs to stop.
If its good odds of a flag being thrown...
then
A QB that is heading out of bounds and does this.....should be flagged.

Was thinking about the RTP penalties that get called when the QB bails/slides but the defender is already left his feet.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 7:07 pmwell...

This should be the rule addendum:
1. If a QB slides and gives himself up towards the opposition goalline, he has no protection once he begins that slide. The onus will no longer be on the defender to avoid significant contact.
2. If a QB slides PARELL to an opponent's goalline (essentially if they slide towards a sideline) they will be provided full protection
In short, if you slide forward you better expect to get hit. Slide parallel and you get all the protection needed.

Justin Fields just did it to the tune of 30 yards and the Steelers longest offensive play of the game. So, hope you feel the same way when he gets called!Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 7:07 pmwell...

Or very different.
Nobody was coming straight head on at Fields. where he was faking the guy into thinking he was going out of bounds
Fields play

Whereas, the plays I am talking about with Mahomes are clearly different than Fields.

Mahomes has done this often.
Slows down towards the sideline, then changes direction as defenders slow down, and turns in and up field.

he did this last year running to the right side...forget what game. Playoffs maybe.
And here he is again. slowing down, thinking about it. Defender is in no mans zone.

Its a common pattern with Mahomes

I'd like to see the other angle for Fields because it sure looked like the attacking defender messed up his angle because he thought Fields would go straight out of bounds. But your point regarding Mahomes is fair.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:03 pmIncorrect Sir.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 7:47 pmJustin Fields just did it to the tune of 30 yards and the Steelers longest offensive play of the game. Agreed and the Kelce overload is just nauseating. But it’s apparent why this is happening (a relationship has now tapped into a new NFL audience worth who the hell knows how much).
Jason should send his brother bags of money, sacks of gold bars, for Christmas.

I think Heyward took out the two guys that Fields was reading and trying to get around.
Not until he saw out of corner of his eye, did he realized he had open field.
I think #1 was the only guy he was heading towards and the both met in a straight line.

Aren’t they all fair game once they pass the LOS, minus the slide. These are just fools not actually putting hands on Mahomes.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:03 pmIncorrect Sir.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 7:47 pmJustin Fields just did it to the tune of 30 yards and the Steelers longest offensive play of the game. I suspect anyone that does a QB slide will get similar protection in the field. Might not be RTP, but it would be UNR player gave himself up etc..
Just need to play to the whistle. Take 15 yards for leveling Mahomes out of bounds would be worth it once a game. Sets the tone!

The simple and best fix is just can the roughing the passer bs
Don’t wanna get hit ??
- Get rid of the ball early
- Go out of bounds early
- Go to the ground early
The idea that the QB has near total freedom to squeeze every bit of juice from every play with zero consequences is bullshit
They should penalize the QB for penalty manipulation
I’m fine with penalizing late and dangerous hits but they ought to institute a “one Mississippi” count
