But the Pittsburgh Steelers coaches don't seem to understand that. I wish I had stats on this, but I've never seen an offense run such tight formations all the time. Oftentimes we look like we are using 35 of the 53 yards of width.
While other teams are constantly trying to scheme players into space and use every inch of the field, we just like to tie our hands behind our back.
Don't even get me started on Warren. He was playing great today and he CONSTANTLY was pulled by this fckin coaching staff in favor of Najee...killing the momentum of our drives. Russ must just be shaking his head.
An NFL Field is 53.3 Yards Wide
My favorite part of the broadcast was Brady subtly suggesting that Warren needed to be playing over Najee.Everyone outside Tomlin and his staff can see this. And a few media sycophants who don't question anything Tomlin does.

You can't really do much when your starting RB runs a 4.7 40. Pretty much limits any sort of exotic run game you might be thinking of trying. Plus our TEs are as slow and non-threatening as any comparable unit in the NFL.
If you're dead set on Najee being our Neo, the one option is to just have him run hard into a mass of bodies and hope he keeps his legs churning long enough to get a few extra yards.
That's basically Najee's career summed up.
*reserves the right to roots for losses*
TB,
We are kindred spirits on Najee. He's crippled our offense for years now, but what a great human story.
I get that our TEs suck, but running 12 and 13 personnel and then thinking you are going to be clever running play action out of that mess is fckin retarded. Limiting snaps for Mike Williams and seeing C. Heyward, Washington, Pruitt, Cordarelle eating snaps is a killer.
Our coaching staff is beyond retarded and they just live on emotions and cliches. I totally get why you are playing the role of Grinch this Christmas.

If you can’t see that Najee totally takes the air out of the offense then you are blind or aren’t watching closely.
What’s wild is that Warren is very good at some things but he’s far from elite. And yet the spark he gives this offense is clear as day.
That unfortunately is a direct reflection of how poor Najee is. It’s bad and it will cost us.

“Thoughts are a waste of time for me.” - Michael Pettaway Tomlin
Tom Brady is a garbage color commentator, but he basically was calling Najee a scrub yesterday by continuing to insist Warren should be getting carries. Brady's only goal is to win and he can't believe the Steelers are dumb enough to insist on Najee. Huge play down the field to CAIII..what do we do? Call Najee for slow plodding runs.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:05 pmIf you can’t see that Najee totally takes the air out of the offense then you are blind or aren’t watching closely.

Sometimes it feels like whenever we get offensive flow, Tomlin wants to purposefully bring Najee in to slow things down. Fckin crazy.
