Should the Steelers rest their injuries until totally healthy until the playoffs. Second how worried should we be about that final game vs Cinny

It’s not about the Bengals catching the Steelers… it’s about how far can they fall in the standings if they lose the next two.
Either the Chargers or Broncos are gonna lose one more game so I’m not concerned.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:34 amIt’s not about the Bengals catching the Steelers… it’s about how far can they fall in the standings if they lose the next two.
The answer is, they are probably going to be the 5 seed but becoming the 6 or even the 7th is not impossible. I don’t think they really want to be going to Buffalo or Baltimore at this point.
One good thing is: if there’s a chance for the Steelers to fall to the 7 seed then Cincy will be eliminated before the week 18 game.
I don't think a road game at either Baltimore nor Houston is gonna be a cakewalk. Houston and PIT are about even on a neutral field. Stroud carved our defense the last time, if memory serves. Baltimore just beat them by multiple TDs. I'm not sure there's a great matchup available to the Steelers unless they win out or BAL loses. I guess I'd rather have HOU without Dell.jeemie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:58 amEither the Chargers or Broncos are gonna lose one more game so I’m not concerned.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:34 amIt’s not about the Bengals catching the Steelers… it’s about how far can they fall in the standings if they lose the next two.

I don’t see Baltimore being any more difficult than Houston so 5 or 6 doesn’t matter to me.
I think they;'ve tried to use Friermuth. This is just who he is... hot and cold depending on the defensive scheme. In certain situations/coverage can be a useful tool but he isn't a continual matchup problem.
I'm not kidding that I think Wilson, because of his short height, has been missing open receivers over the middle... Middle... I counted at least two on Saturday, one of which seemed to be confirmed by having the proper camera angle from the end zone behind Wilson.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:45 pmI think they;'ve tried to use Friermuth. Yeah, Wilson has always had low targets/production to TEs. But IIRC, he targets MOF at a normal rate. Maybe he just doesn't like TEs. I mentioned this as a concern in an Arthur Smith offense that primarily puts TEs on the field and rarely throws to WR2 or WR3.jeemie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:51 pmI'm not kidding that I think Wilson, because of his short height, has been missing open receivers over the middle... Austin was wide open on the 4th and 6th play much earlier than when Wilson threw the ball... And the camera showed Austin being obscured by a defender... If the camera couldn't see Austin, then neither could Wilson.
Look I’m not going to disagree, but the Ravens got 21 points off of turnovers, including one unforced error and one aggressive error from Wilson (the pick six to Humphrey I saw as soon as he threw it…you can’t blame that on scheme…Wilson just completely fucked up. I’m not going to blame him as much for the fumble…he was going all out to score right there).bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:42 pmI don't think a road game at either Baltimore nor Houston is gonna be a cakewalk. The pick 6 happened on a stupid playcall that Arthur Smith goes to over and over again-- almost as if it's the kind of play he calls when he doesn't know what else to call. The receiver rounded the route a little and YES is was a throw that is so routine for the Steelers that Wilson probably wasn't even thinking, just throwing.jeemie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 4:16 pmLook I’m not going to disagree, but the Ravens got 21 points off of turnovers, including one unforced error and one aggressive error from Wilson (the pick six to Humphrey I saw as soon as he threw it…you can’t blame that on scheme…Wilson just completely fucked up. Those don’t happen, and we are talking a different game, perhaps.
Just saying.
Only matchup I think is a guaranteed loss is to Buffalo…so for that reason I don’t want the Steelers falling to the seven seed.
This team constantly doubles down on dumb.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:01 amLegit questions...
How about this one.
Will Darnell Washington have more targets in the last 2, than he did in the previous 3.
ONE target in the last 3 games.
Criminally Negligent.
2 targets and 1 catch over last 4 games.
![]()
After a 5 game stretch in which he had 11 catches on 15 targets for 127 yards...11.5 avg
Including receptions of 18, 25 and 29
This guy should be a weapon.
Was building nice momentum.
Was striking down the middle..
On top of his routes to the right edge.
They had attempted a few TE screens to him a few weeks ago.... that did not click...tipped passes.
He may be the biggest visable target that little Russel is able to see over his line.
He should have an easy catch or two between hashes every week....chip/shed... run 5-7 and turn.
LB or S would have to run thru 6'-7" and 295... to break up a pass.
He would be a 50-60+ catch TE in a modern NFL offense.
I believe Tomlin is of the mindset, that once DW started making big plays.... that he should keep him a hidden commodity .... to keep under wraps...
To spring him and suprise with him down the road.
We fail to plan on Monday thru Saturday...
With conclusive results on Sundays.
Pittsburgh isn’t great, but Baltimore is not vastly superior either.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 4:55 pmThe pick 6 happened on a stupid playcall that Arthur Smith goes to over and over again-- almost as if it's the kind of play he calls when he doesn't know what else to call. Anyway, Baltimore's defense has been had at times this year, but that is a vastly superior team. Don't be fooled by a few playes here and there. They could easily have won that game by 21 or more, so even accounting for the mistakes and bad calls that cost points, it still would likely be a decisive win in the postseason.
The talent level between Baltimore and Pittsburgh isn’t all that close to me. If you look roster to roster it’s pretty obvious. There are no Larry Ogunjobis or Scottie Millers getting PT.jeemie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 7:50 pmPittsburgh isn’t great, but Baltimore is not vastly superior either.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 4:55 pmThe pick 6 happened on a stupid playcall that Arthur Smith goes to over and over again-- almost as if it's the kind of play he calls when he doesn't know what else to call. Only teams worth anything in the AFC are Buffalo, and Kansas City because of the Reid/Mahomes thing (that and the NFL loves them some Swifties eyeballs).
The Super Bowl will be a matchup of two of these four teams…Detroit/Philadelphia/Buffalo/Kansas City. MAYBE Green Bay slips through in the NFC but it’s one of Buffalo or KC in the AFC for sure.

Agreed. The Ravens are much closer to the Chiefs and Bills than they are to the Steelers. The Ravens offense is much more talented overall than the Steelers' offense. Other than George Pickens, I don't think there's a Steeler who would start on the Ravens' offense. The Ravens defense isn't that much worse than the Steelers' in terms of talent.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 4:08 amThe talent level between Baltimore and Pittsburgh isn’t all that close to me. Orr & Pees + Monken superior to any coordinator combo Steelers have had since Dick Lebeau & Arians. Light years better than our staff.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 4:42 amYou’re right of coursebradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 4:08 amThe talent level between Baltimore and Pittsburgh isn’t all that close to me. But
Put Lamar and King Henry on the Steelers and stick the Rats with Russ and Najee well then I’ll take Tomlin over Harbaugh 10 of the next 10 instead of just 8
Many caveats here including Tomlin and Uncle Artie not knowing what the hell to do with Lamar but that’s a separate hypothetical topic
My guy Monken is the man handing Kirby two natties down here in the glorious state of Georgia
Go Dawgs!
Go Najee!!
Go Russ!!!
Go Uncle Artie!!!!
Go Skenes!!!!!
GOOO LIVVVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
