Snow in Balt/Wash Metro Area

Post by LakecrestSteeler » Tue Jan 07, 2025 10:14 pm

NVA and the Metro DC area got a ton of snow this week. Pretty sure Baltimore had heavy snow too. Been 3 years-ish since Baltimore had snow.

It would be a normal storm in WPA. Could have an impact on prep and seriousness going into the week. Pretty sure every school had a delay or cancelation. My office has been a ghost town all week.

If Tomlin could wave a wand and get an A game out of the offense, could be ripe for an upset.

I am sure nobody was getting to the practice facilities on time and all that goes with that…that malaise can linger.

Here is to hoping for MAX distraction even though we are supposed be wishing for blowout and Tomlin’s demise!

Yes I know they have indoor facilities!

Except last Saturday night, Tomlin cited "the conditions" as another reason for the run heavy offense. Now it's too cold for that dumbfuck

It is cold down here too…teens all week. Probably means 2.1 average per carry coming up.

And sitting at the bar and in an argument with a non-Steeler fan/Commander’s fan bartender on why Tomlin is amazing! Bartender arguing for Tomlin being great. First line out of his mouth was NHALS! And he plays football for Townsend.

Unbelievable!

The media has done their job!

Henry ran for 162 the last game.

@swissvale72 I smell an upset brewing. Swiss what is your gut saying? You usually have a good feel for these upsets.

You are right. And those games where Tomlin has put it all together are very few and far between!

I suffered nearly the same injury, in the same knee. Grade 1 PCL. I'm 61 and have no training staff nor hyperbaric chamber, so I'm sure I would recover more slowly. I'm 1.5 weeks later and it's really maybe yesterday and today I could push off running for more than a jog. Backpedaling harder. Flexing the knee and putting weight on it (like a catcher's squat) probably the hardest.

My guess-- and this confirmed by a knowledgable source––probably "a week or two" and likely not before he feels like he can play effectively without favoring it. As long as there is no stability loss in the knee (sounds like there wasn't in his case), it's pain management and mobility.

tl, dr: he's pretty unlikely to play Saturday, but being the playoffs he may warm up and dress and try to give it a go. However, he'd be pretty likely to play the following week if they're alive.

I wish my gut really smelled an upset. Instead, it's more that I'm trying to be hopeful. I'll cite a number of factors:
-I don't like this illness, whether it's the fuckin flu, that's affecting both cam, and now Boswell.
-I like that zay flowers prob won't play.
-I wish our coach wasn't such an absolute Dumbfuck against cinci. Maybe he can be a little bit smarter this week. And history is that he usually knows how to play the bengals
-i look at the game 3 weeks ago as one the Steelers could have one. They were so goddam close to taking a 14-7 lead. And they had no GP, lost Porter jr and Jackson. (Right?) in game
-defense seemed to play much better last game. I think that's encouraging, hopefully the o-line doesn't suck so bad, and Russ and GP hook up for some big ones.

Again, I'm not optimistic but hopeful

When I broke my knee cap playing basketball and the team doctor said it was just sprained…I remember delivering newspapers the next day before the break was diagnosed, but my knee kept buckling. It was the same reflex from hitting your knee with the doctor’s hammer. Uncontrollable. That was what clued me in, that the team doctor was not Dr. House.

Does that come into play with PCL injury? I just bring it up because I don’t think pain management controls that reflex. Maybe it does who knows. I just always remember my knee kept buckling and it didn’t really hurt. Might have just been a patella tendon thing though!

I know LJ had this offense humming, but I don’t think it was humming to the extent that it was plug and play like Mahomes in KC. Maybe Flowers wrecks the offense like Pickens being out seemed to wreck our mojo.

The PCL has nothing to do with the patella tendon deep tendon reflex. Your break was likely putting quick firm tension on the tendon with certain movements causing the same DTR reflex a hammer would.
