As an Ohio State fan I agree that the Michigan loss was awful. That being said, it's a rivalry and Michigan's defense is built to face OSU. It was also only a three point loss and their only other loss was by one point on a "neutral" field to the number one team in the country. OSU would beat Indiana nine out of ten games if they played ten times. Also, watching OSU provided some relief from watching our very vanilla, uninspired and poorly coached Steelers team. I missed two or three Steelers games. Prior to this year I didn't miss watching a Steelers game for literally any reason. I'm so tired of the same old shit from them that I likely won't watch every game next season either. It's like punishing myself every week. I also got married in September so my mother in law was impressed that I agreed to miss a couple of games, lol.
Kurtis Rourke played the entire season with a torn MCL. That might be the only way OSU beats IU 9 out of 10 times with Cignetti as coach and IU actually beat Michigan....and I don't think UM was missing Loveland and Johnson that afternoon.
When I saw OSU struggle mightily to beat Nebraska (was that a rivalry game too?) and Indiana beat Nebraska by 50, nah I'm not sure I'm buying OSU beating IU 9 out of 10 times.
Next year should be very interesting. IU landed one of the top rated QB's in the portal and several of IU's best players who were expected to be NFL bound announced they're sticking around.....and the OSU game will be in Bloomington. We'll see how that one turns out.

Does the MCL injury only matter for the OSU game? If he played the entire season on it, it didn't seem to have much of an effect on his games, outside of OSU.
I think Cignetti is an awesome coach and they should be playing great ball again next year. All these hypotheticals are meaningless though. The 12 team playoff allowed for teams to heat up at the right time and OSU did just that.

Hopefully IU keeps it up and builds themselves into another legit B1G threat. Great for the conference if it happens. Hard to believe when I heard how long it had been since it'd been back to back B1G National Champs. Iron, as they say, sharpens iron.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Not at all. Rourke was on fire for most of the season but later in the year, his mobility (which was never a strong suit for Rourke and will likely be the reason he is either a late round draft choice or a UDFA) was completely gone. By the time they played Michigan and OSU, Rourke could barely run.
That MCL had a major effect on Rourke's game and it was noticeable if you watched him on a regular basis.
