Steelers Off-season

Post by steelmann58 » Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:06 am

First and foremost they need to build up their Lines. Andy needs to get involved big time. They added 2 number one OT hopefully Jones and Troy can become the cornerstones. We seems to have a future All Pro Center. And a possible building block OG. The Dl is were significantly needs to be upgraded they have to add at Least 2 Dl maybe targeting the Best FA DL available and drafting one in either of the first two rounds plus maybe target one late in the draft. The must sign a top Wr in FA I think Higgins is a must imo and add another in the top 2 picks finally grab a Cb either in Fa or someone in the draft. The Rb should be someone with Breakaway speed.

A quarterback. I guess I am willing to let Fields take a shot. I don’t think it will work, but then maybe we nab a top-ten pick in 2026 and draft a franchise quarterback.

How many younger generation steeler fans just became eagle fans ?

Yeah. Rooney showed his hand the past few weeks. He's ready to rest on the team's past successes.

The question you should ask is how many OLDER generation Steeler fans are becoming Eagles fans?

Interesting question, Jeems. Watching ESPN shows this morning, they're looking for a comparable defensive performance in the SB and cite Seattle's legion of boom vs. Denver. I'm looking at Steelers D in SB IX that held Minnesotas O to 17 yards rushing, multiple blocked passes, couple picks and zero points

I did think of that but at this point most of us are not ditching the Steelers, but I bet some older not so invested fans prob would

I'll never root for another team. I'll just stop following the NFL at that point. I'm almost there right now. I watched 10 minutes of the Super Bowl. Watched 0 minutes of the playoffs after we met our inevitable fate. If the plan moving forward is to do what we do and rest on past success then I'll find other ways to enjoy my Sundays. It's that simple for me now. I don't ask for much as a fan. I just want the sense that we're building to win something that matters. Unfortunately, Rooney opened his big mouth and showed his hand. We're officially in purgatory.

I have college football and soccer to scratch my fall/winter sports mix. I'll be content.

I'm 85% here with ya, and not for nothing, a lot of the playoff snaps I did watch were Eagles snaps. They're pretty much everything we style ourselves to be, at this point. That said, though, bring on the Board Mock(s?)

Been saying the DL needs 2 picks in first 4...
For awhile.
Look at what the Eagles DLine did last night.
Our best DL will be closer to 37 than 36 by this time next year.
Benton has most likely been coached down.
Larry OG...over priced. Not a difference maker at all.
The rest would not be missed. Loudermilk.
Montravius.
How inferior is this DL squad.

My son came home from his SB party last nite and we talked about the game. Two of his friends are Eagles fans.
We went to 3 games this year..he went to a 4th with friends. Great road trips with my 2 boys, 2-3-4 games a year... for the last 4-5 years now.
Talked about Steelers playing in Ireland..
He seemed bummed.
Said he did not think he was gonna go to Steelers games this year.
And with my older son is getting married in January... so he'll have a whole host of things and responsibilities coming up, not to mention looking for a home.
He was not as Gung ho going to games this year.

Tomlin sucks the football life out of not just the Steelers, but their fans.
Damn shame.

Discussing the Steelers offseason and personnel needs is like talking bout how nice the furniture in the Titanic’s dining room is.

They need to build their lines and get a franchise Qb. They need to get Art to admit changes ned to be made and eventually move on from Tomlin. Hopefully we see these changes in a few years. Hopefully Andy can help

Is Art still running the team? Check
Is Mike Tomlin still the coach? Check

Then the off-season is meaningless.

Sign CB Davis
Sign DT Reed

Draft 2 more DL in the 3rd, and 5th.

What will actually happen.
Re-sign Sutton
Re-sign Loudermilk

Trade up and draft another bust qb, no draft picks in the 3rd and 5th after trade.

We need to draft players that are all world and have been abused by bad coaches.

Then pray to all that is holy that they organize a rebellion and get Tomlin fired.

Watt, Cam and Minkah have to have figured it out by now. They are losers. They are the best players on the Washington Generals. They are just pedestrian players on a sinking ship.

The offense is a fucking joke! There is not one player worth a damn. I don’t understand how you can keep picking all these players and just keep striking out! 14.2 points a game is what they average! Worst in the league!

Yes I do understand. Tomlin.

Bring on the Fury dart board. It won’t matter who we pick.

We are a new coach and 3 years away from anything.

We can’t draft a FQB. That is like getting the first IBM computer. Great; you got the computer, but nobody knows how to make the punch cards and nobody knows how to feed them into the machine.

The Steelers are a waste of time!

Yes I believe that, probably also resign Adams, and Leal as well. Picking Jalen Milroe in the first because he has “The eye of the tiger” per Mike Tomlin.

1-16 do it for the Arch.

Arch probably won't come out in 2026. However, he wouldn't be QB1 for me. I'm all in on Taylen Green as QB1 in 2026. He's going to have a huge year. He lost a couple of good WRs and a great RB, but they reloaded and have the best 2nd year WR not playing in Columbus or Tuscaloosa. Stud LT and solid rest of the OL. I think he's going to have a big year.

if you're going to be obsessed with a mobile QB, make it one with massive tools who can actually play QB in the pocket.

no amount of players added or subtracted is going to make one fucking difference until Tomlin/Rooney disaster is changed out.

Same movie, different year.
