14.2 Points Per Game Average in 2024

Post by LakecrestSteeler » Wed Feb 12, 2025 12:02 pm

How is that going to improve?

It won’t!

14.2 points over the last 5 games…the reversion back to mean!

TOMLIN you are a fucking disaster and a joke in this league!

Kenny Pickett should have stayed and you should have stuck a sword in your stomach!

We would be much closer to a Super Bowl if that transpired.

14.2 ppg isn't the problem. The problem is that Steelers' ownership and coaching think you can win games in the modern NFL scoring 14.2 ppg.

And that's with a couple of genuinely high scoring games thrown into the average for the first time in a few years. Awful stat to see.

I only did the last 5 games on purpose.

Those high scoring games were outliers. If you start telling everyone that they had 14.2 I think it is accurate sentiment, but you may get called to the carpet for their actual 22.4 ppg, but I do believe 14.2 is not a misleading argument considering their futility since 12/2/2020.

I was being misleading on purpose because nobody should get credit for the obvious outliers or the high scoring games, not when you have a mechanism on the team that thwarts game plans or you just don’t have the talent against the best teams.

Okay, well that at least explains part of my shock. The fact that we're reading now that the higher scoring games were the result of improvisation that seems to have been frowned upon is, I guess, a little disqualifying, too, so there's that.
