Getting closer to the Draft
Draft is coming up it’s looking still like Dl is up for 1st round. But they have brought in a bunch of RB and WR for visits.

They're taking a QB who will be able to play pretty quickly.
I don't think Rodgers is coming (I pray he doesn't) and they aren't going into this season with Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson at QB.
It's either gonna be Dart in the first round or a trade down to take Milroe.
I'll be very surprised if George Pickens is a Steeler after the draft and if they can get a second rounder for Pickens, they could use that pick to take Milroe and maybe go DL in the first.
WR in the third, but they are now in a position where they have to take a QB early. Very early.

If they trade down, probably QB and DL with the extra pick.

I’m preparing myself for Kenny part II (minus the broken TV. Just not worth the angst).
I assume your beloved Steelers believe that since this is a historically deep defensive tackle (and running back) class they can wait until round 3 to draft their much needed DT. In their mind, they’re getting 2nd round value (or even 1st round value) if they guess right.
I’d like to see Weidl continue the Eagles model of building up the trenches.
Draft AT LEAST two defensive linemen.
Barring a trade to acquire extra draft capital, I’m resigned to the fact your Steelers will draft a QB in rd 1 then settle for a DT I have ranked outside of the top tier or two in rd 3.
Thanks Mike.

Yep. That sounds like the Steeler way under MT and AR II..If we miss out on a great DLine guy because they think a "deep draft" means there's a Joe Greene sitting there in the 3rd round? I'm going to be semi pissed..lol. Plus I bought a new TV and smashing it is not possible...right? I might have to buy a cheap one to watch the draft this year, goddamnit.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:15 pmI’m preparing myself for Kenny part II (minus the broken TV. If there is ONE thing I didn't think was possible....it was the Steelers killing my love and enthusiasm for the draft and having hope that they are building the team properly with some forethought. But I'm at that place now. I think this website and contributors is the only thing keeping me interested and engaged..so thanks! All of you..

I thinking Double Dip at DL and Rb/ Wr 3-4 the Qb around the 5th. I can see the Steelers going 21 for a Qb
That very thought has been on my mind as well.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:15 pmI’m preparing myself for Kenny part II (minus the broken TV. Just not worth the angst).

Jibbs isn’t really stupid enough to believe he could actually develop someone like Milroe is he?

Add a RB early and roll with Mason this year.
A trade back would be ideal, but we know the inevitable first round "podium sprint" is coming.
Trading Watt is also the correct move at this point. Instead, they'll pay him $40 million a year which will be an absolute disaster in 2 years.
A delusional franchise that would rather win a loyalty contest than run a successful business.
As you said, not worth the angst anymore.
drafting a QB with the 1st is the worst thing they could so -- assuming its not Ward or MAYBE Sanders
they need to restock and revamp along the front lines and find a QB next year
I have no issue though with taking a shot at a QB in 4th round or later
they just have too many weaknesses across the board -- RB, WR, TE, DL, LB and DB

I am not drafting a Qb until late you have to many holes to fill

If they want a good 5 tech they will need to draft that DT in the 1st or 2nd round. NT or run stopping DTs are super deep in the draft. They can get very good ones on day 3 but none of them really offer much of a pass rush.

I have a knock-off Crosby jersey specifically to wear to away games in Philly a couple times a year (because Flyers fans), so I can see how buying a cheap TV for the Steelers draft could make sense.shellwagnerblount wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 5:25 pmYep. Best get it soon. I watch the first couple rounds of the draft on my $250 Roku TV in the basement not the 60" OLED in the family roomIce wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 2:21 pmI have a knock-off Crosby jersey specifically to wear to away games in Philly a couple times a year (because Flyers fans), so I can see how buying a cheap TV for the Steelers draft could make sense.shellwagnerblount wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 5:25 pmYep. I’d wait until he does use some excuses then I’d put the microphone right on the tip of his nose and ask him about his coaching tree with my follow up questions.
This org is a joke currently.

Actually, they seem to love to draft early at historically deep positions. At everywhere but QB, where they seem hellbent on picking the scraps of a bad class off the floor for dinner. The truly loaded class this year is RB, followed by DL. It's also a sneaky deep coverage LB class.shellwagnerblount wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 5:25 pmYep. George Pickens has unfollowed the Steelers on social media.
Looks like he may be cooked. Have to imagine that means they will use him to move up in the draft to take a QB. Hopefully it's R2 and maybe Dart and not moving up out of desperation to grab a falling Shadeur.
