The Steelers still have $18.8 million in cap space going into training camp. However, it does not take into the fact that DeShawn Elliott just got extended. Looking at the math, it’s an Looking at the math, it’s unlikely that his cap it changes much. And obviously, an extension with Watt is likely on the horizon (which in theory could add back space to this year). Any other extension candidates out there? Free agents you’d like to see the Steelers pursue or trade for another piece?

If and that’s a big if hey are “all in in a SB run” (although Fraudlin is a Fraud and has no chance) then at least make it palpable, sign TJ since we know they will, restructure a Cpl contracts and go after a big time #2 WR. Possibly another CB also.
Who you say on that “big time” WR, IDK but I’d gladly take Terry of the Commanders’ hands.

His pay and cap hit should be aligned with that.

They play Fitzpatrick about 30 yards deep in center field.955876 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 9:09 pmCasper the friendly ghost free safety is practically invisible on the field.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 3:04 amFitzpatrick is a potential candidate to restructure with a 2025 CAP HIT $22,355,000

No doubt he isn't making plays like he was when he first arrived in Pittsburgh but I'm pretty certain if they actually used the guy as more than just the last line of defense, he'd probably be pretty good.
I have no idea why they have him playing so deep.

He’s either lost a step or Jibbs is a blithering idiot or both.
If that is how Jibba Jabber is going to play his FS then you don’t need a high $$$ free safety sitting out there picking his ass.
This team is so dumb.

How much of unused cap space rolls over to the next year?

I’m thinking Safety is one of the deeper groups on this team today. [On Paper]
The FO has done a great job adding depth to an otherwise underwhelming group.
Bringing in F/A Thornhill, rookie Castro and F/A Quindell Johnson in addition to the extension of Elliot is good to see.
Should be some good competition resulting in a solid Safety group.

Have to think Fitz is really going to need to prove something or else the Steelers will need to find something to do with that contract could it be his last season ?

OL without question is Becton thought he has a lot of potential again not sure this OL Coach is the right man for that job but that another matter. The other Guy is the UNLV WR White who impressed me and made plays after plays with different QBS.
Or we could sign Patrick Ramsey to also line up on the other side of the Mon.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
This teams biggest need is a swing tackle. We are one injury to Jones or Fautanou or just one of them just sucking to derail the entire season. We have a 42 year old QB, we can't take chances.

I think the only right thing for Art to do is hire Tomlin's wife as a consultant for 18.8 M a year.
