Rogers vs. Wilson
Rodgers over Wilson (he was just effectively benched for a rookie and Jameis Winston), but no, it doesn't/didn't/wouldn't/couldn't matter.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

You could give Tomlin any QB, Josh Allen, Mahomes or Lamar Jackson and it wouldn’t matter. He coaches to eliminate risk and neuters his weapons. He needs to be gone before draft another QB

I wrote about this the other day. Arthur Smith is complete trash.
Fields and Wilson had some early success last season when they came in. Fields is Fields but Russell put up some good numbers especially against the Bengals in Cincy and beating the Commanders who played in the NFCCG last season.
But once opposing coordinators had tape on the Arthur Smith system with Wilson under center it fell off a cliff. Check the offensive stats from the last 5 games of the season. FBS level play.
Same shit is happening with Rodgers now. For a few weeks DCs didn’t have much tape to plan around with our dumb 3 TEs sets and Spencer Anderson crap. Now they do and it’s over.
I’d be absolutely shocked if we score more than 13 points on Sunday. And the Ravens defense has major holes at every level.

Offense is a personnel problem. (D is a coaching problem). I mean, how often do you see someone getting separation?
The Steelers have a bottom 5 skill player group in the league:
- DK is a #2 with a limited route tree. Can't highpoint. Doesn't run good routes. Hit him in stride on a go or slant and he's electric. otherwise, wood burning
- CAIII, Slowronek, Miller are practice squad WRs
- Wilson is unproven. Maybe ok
- Wash can play
- Jonnu is a joke
- Muth unfortunately slept with Tomlin's wife
- 2 career backups at RB
That's terrible. Add a statue at QB and a young OL and you've got issues. TBH i'm surprised they've scored as much as they have.

Defense has been giving them very short fields to work with...lifelongsteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 7:27 pm

I'd argue that the carousal at QB has benefited Tomlin to some extent. He's cycled through bad QB's and defenders use that as some form of excuse as if he didn't pick those guys, but regardless...it keeps opponents from really keying in. It's like the second the wheels are about to fall off they get a minor spark from inserting another QB who teams have to adjust to. It's been just enough to allow him to keep the team treading water around the .500 line.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 7:08 pmI wrote about this the other day. Arthur Smith is complete trash.

If they brought Wilson back this year, they'd be staring at a 4-13 season or something. But Rodgers gave them just enough juice early on to eek out some wins before the league figured shit out. Only problem is that he can't really bench Rodgers without looking massively stupid given that he's publicly stated he's the one who wanted him. I'm not sure Mason is enough of an unknown commodity and he isn't turning to Will fucking Howard.
And obviously, he's the main beneficiary of the playoff expansion. Which is a different topic, but it allows them to squeak into the playoffs when they would have missed it before. Had no real business being there in the last half decade. So guys like Rap can say he's made the playoffs ever year as if half the league doesn't at this point. Alls that did was make Tomlin's model slightly more sustainable.
