Big game for our Tackles

Post by steelmann58 » Mon Jan 12, 2026 4:53 am

I think that going to be the key for us offensively. Tro and Dylan need to really step up and give AR time to find open Receivers. Hopefully they involve 88 front the start and pray Smith can have an impact.

You could throw in as a component of making the playoffs Jones getting hurt.

Maybe this will be the component of a lesson learned by the coaching staff. Does Coach T do RCA on his numerous failures?
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

I think this is a terrible matchup for 88. Al Shaair and Pitre are two of the best middle of the field coverage players in the NFL.

This is a Warren making To'oTo'o miss in the flat and Calvin Austin double-move PA shot play kind of a game. Much like the Steelers, Houston has shown susceptibility to getting overly aggressive and getting beaten over the top. Think 1994 Pittsburgh Steelers D.

Our OTs would be doing a good job if they allowed Rodgers to get off short passes without taking hits. To do more than that would be amazing but unlikely.

No quarterback in the NFL gets rid of the ball quicker and throws short of the sticks more than Aaron Rodgers.

The Houston Texans defense ranks 1st in yards per pass and EPA/play on throws under 10 air yards.
Copied that from Twitter

The Texans defense is designed to stop the crap offense that is run by your beloved Steelers.

Gotta run the ball and take some shots deep (muuuth up the seam would be nice)

To do that, Rodgers will in fact have to face his new found fear of being touched.

Good test for the Steelers OTs indeed

I expect Stroud to complete deep passes to his young receivers (Higgins, Noel, Collins) with little to no pass rush pressure from our $40 million edge rusher.

That’s a possible outcome. They’re really talented at WR and have a serious defense for the Steelers best edge player recently—Highsnith facing Ersery is a great matchup and probably tougher for 56 to dominate.

Also, can Cam Heyward sustain that energy from last week into the playoffs? Or did he burn the matches to get us here?

I hope you are correct, but a draw would be an excellent effort.
