I Ride
Yeah we lost. It sucks. Nevertheless, I ride.
We still have on the best quarterbacks in the game with Ben Rothlisberger.
We have one of the top tailbacks in the league. Sucks he couldn't have gone tonight, would've been a big difference.
We have Antonio Brown, is quietly transformed into a huge playmaker for us. Not to mention, we have this kid by the name of Martivis Bryant who's looking to just bust out who was just a rookie this year.
Heath Miller is the consummate professional. He's also still playing at a high-level for this team.
We have an All-Pro center and in Pouncey and that guy David DeCastro ain't too shabby either.
We've got a young DL in Heyward, McClendon, McCullers and Tuitt. This group is full of promise.
Have an underrated linebacker in Lawrence Timmons.
Have two good CBs in William Gay and
Every team has their problems. I'll take ours in a heartbeat.
This team is incredibly young right now.
Fix our main problem, the pass rush, and this team will be in contention every year. Can't ask for much more.

Agree smith. Pass Rush and secondary need upgrading. How its done I don't know. Perhaps Mitchell is a better fit at strong safety. I think Troy hangs 'em up so SS will be a position of need. Will Allen a year older is stop gap at best. Sad to watch Troy's abilities fall like they have. Father Time catches everyone.
Perhaps CB/Safety are high priorities this draft along with Edge.

I'll agree with almost everything. Most importantly, it's become a young team. They had to learn how to win this season, and at times that was painful. Now they have to learn how to win in the playoffs.

Next draft needs to be balks out on D. And a legit back up RB.

I hope they cut Troy for his own good if he doesn't retire. He's done and has had too many concussions. Plus, I don't want to remember the Troy I saw tonight. He doesn't hit, has no speed, can't rush or cover. That's not even a shell of the Troy I want to remember.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Smith and 77 I'll see you boys over in the draft forum. I applaud your optimism and understanding of the needs of the team.
Anyway, The offense ranked what 2nd in the league this year? Under Todd Haley? Sure when it mattered most the offense played poorly. Plenty of blame to go around.
To me without their MVP running back the game plan and play calling had to be changed. The offense that hit its stride after the emergence of Martavius Bryant and exit of Legarrett Blount was completely out of sync without Bell. I give the Ravens credit their front 7 maybe the most physical in the league but nobody without a PHD in football will convince me the offense would not have won this game had they been in rhythm and Haley having full use of his playbook.
I just don't see how how a let down wasnt to be expected tonight with a udfa, a street free agent, and a Dri archer trying to fill the shoes of an MVP caliber RB that for better or worse is what makes this offense go.
All that said, I'm not one to lay blame for any loss. Football is the ultimate team game. As frustrating as it was to watch a Bell-less offense, it's more disheartening to me that a team with even just an average pass rush and a decent secondary would've held Flacco and his EXTREMELY mediocre skill players to under 20 pts. Especially given the injuries they had along the offensive line.
This team made a lot of strides this year especially on offense. A playoff loss to the hated Ravens stings. Make some upgrades to the pass rush and secondary, find a quality backup RB and saddle up again next year.

Thank you for this thread. If there is anything worse than the Steelers losing, it is the crybaby sky is falling threads that follow. We won our division, and showed we have a lot of young talent. Ben has many good years left. Draft or sign a good LT, move Beachum to LG, Get 2 good CBs and convince Harrison for one more year.We will be back.

Good post, we'll be back
Does get tiring listening to all the chicken little bullshit. Probably have some work to do on defense because apparently they can't win unless they pitch a shutout every week
A good LT?
Beachum might have been our best offensive lineman last night.
Suggs made his plays when Ben was forced to hold the ball and move around.
They even moved Suggs to the left side to take advantage of Gilbert on more than one occasion.

That is my point. Gilbert is the weak link on the line. Beachum was the best O-lineman a lot of games this year. He will be an all pro LG, or a good LT. There are a lot of very good LTs in this draft. With a great O-line, this offense will be amazing for years to come.

If they go 10-6 next year with that schedule and the holes they have on defense, that's a major victory.
I see the ceiling as playoffs right now, not SB. Hope I am wrong.
