Archer looks like Devin Hester compared to this bum. Sign Archer back if they have to, Jones is done, time to get on with his life's work as Noll used to say.

only one thing mitigates it-- AB has blown up in the two games where he hasn't been the primary punt returner

agreed, he's gotta go...

Say what you want about tomlin, this year he's been cutting dead wait at a faster rate than in the past. I expect him gone by Monday afternoon.

This^ Jacoby is pretty putrid. I don't think Tomlin has it in him. Jacoby and Vick should be sharing a taxi to the airport.

All of you bitching about Archer should want him back. At least Archer didn't fumble nearly every return. Wheaton would be a better move than Jones I would think. Shit, Ben would do as well.

Wouldn't hurt to keep looking for help at RB and or DE...

Jones can go. Wheaton on kicks, AB on punts...

Has Todman returned punts in his career?

Wheaton needs to be back there. That move HAS to be made.

Really pathetic that the standard seems to be don't fuck-up. That's the only reason Archer was back there as long as he was, until he they got tired of his returns to the 10. Either way, Jones has been fucking up so he should go.

If the entire franchise has to cringe every time this guy fields a punt, it's time to go. Getting $5mil/2 yrs then cut on the front end by SD wasn't alarming enough, how about these first 2 games in Black and Gold?

The NFL doesn't want kickoffs to matter and, as such, they barely do. Instead of having some shlub like Jones or Archer on the roster specifically to return a kickoff once, maybe twice a game, put someone back there who has potential to contribute in other areas, and AB back on punt returns.

I think it's dumb to dedicate a roster spots to someone who might give you 5 extra yards of field position twice a game, when he doesn't do anything else.

I watched Hayne in some of the preseason games, and would have no problem signing him. He'd give a little more RB depth, while also being a potential long term project. The guy runs hard, he just needs to learn the game.

Hayne had some tough edges but he has one thing Wheaton & Todman do not: the ability to field and return punts at a high level.
