Replacing Tomlin

Post by Legacy User » Wed Oct 07, 2015 6:37 pm

Who would you want to replace him?
He's a bottom tier coach, who adds nothing of value to the team.
His teams are consistently unprepared, lack motivation, and play down to competition.
The best thing he does is yell like Ric Flair.
So, what do you think should be done in terms of replacing him?

I tried to read your post, but the flames and heat coming off of it were too intense for me to get close enough to see it clearly.

Not sure how Herpes would be an upgrade, but Interesting.

Al Gore might be too busy with his next presidential campaign.

What about Norv Turner?

how fucking long do you think those 3 total idiots would need to get a new HC going?

we had a consistent playoff level team.....we had a consistent Super Bowl competitive team......those dumb arrogant fucks completely destroyed all that and most of you dumb cant find your ass with both hands know nothing pretend football experts cheered it on......

i guess i shouldnt be surprised that some of the dumbest people i know ....do in fact....remain stupid, proudly arrogant, and completely unwilling to learn from their massive mistakes.....

Actually, it's Tomlin's fault that this team isn't prepared, plays down to competition, and lacks consistency.
The team will improve a hundred fold when he leaves.
Both Harbaughs, Bill B, etc, would have all won that game against the Ravens.

I think Tomlin leaves when Ben does or shortly after. He will have had his fill of this fan base. Then youll be free to enjoy 25 years or so of completely useless football brought to you by rooney colbert haley types.

You're an Ohio fan. You don't get to talk about the language being butchered.

I wish he'd do a long drawn out, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" after a big win!

Or maybe use "To be the man, you gotta beat the man!" before a big game...

I wouldn't blame him, As Ben's time draws near, I'd demand they DO ANYTHING, PAY ANYTHING, TRADE ANYTHING to move up in a draft to get a top QB, or I'd leave, no way I'd agree to stay on and rebuild with a Landry Jones level piece of shit QB.

Nobody plans on doing that. But look at how many first round misses there have been in the last 5-10 years. EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, Josh Freeman, Christian Ponder, RG3, Tannehill, Bradford, Stafford, Mark Sanchez.....

Sorry, but it still seems that you have a very low probability of getting a good QB, even early in the first round.

So if you'd DO ANYTHING, TRADE ANYTHING, to move up, you better be damn sure. I'm sure the Redskins were.

So his teams don't lack motivation? They don't ease into the season? They have a coach that said he'd unleash hell and then had his team fail spectacularly?
What value does he add to this team?
Seriously, what have they actually accomplished that wasn't gifted to him?

"Kotite" Tomlin would be smart to leave when Ben leaves.

Real smart.

So his teams don't lack motivation? no, not in any way
They don't ease into the season? not sure your point here. His teams generally improve as the season progresses, which, well, um, indicates good coaching
They have a coach that said he'd unleash hell and then had his team fail spectacularly? Really? Hardly a fireable offense, especially considering he took them to the SB the following year. Forgiven.
What value does he add to this team? In all honesty, if you don't know what value he brings, you're not being objective and truthful and it won't matter what is pointed out to you
Seriously, what have they actually accomplished that wasn't gifted to him?I'm so sick of this argument. Tomlin took the Steelers to 2 SBs on his own. No, he didn't build the teams personnel, but he built and led each one in its own right. He didn't ride anyone's coattails or piggyback to them. This isn't Barry fuckin Switzer or George Seifert. It's fine if you want to bitch about his talent evaluation, in-game situational management or tactical abilities. I agree, he's lacking there. But not to note or acknowledge his strengths: leadership, motivation, team management and the ability to get his players to run through a wall for him is narrow-minded, agenda driven and shows a lack of understanding of everything that goes into building, leading and running a championship team.

No. Tomlin lucked into Ben, and Ben dragged his ass kicking and screaming to two Super Bowls.
Tomlin is a subpar piece of trash who has yet to accomplish anything of note.
It's embarrassing that he's still head coach of this team when he plays little brother to harbaugh.
His teams ease into games and seasons.
They show the same failure time and again. They don't learn from mistakes.
He's a mealy mouthed piece of shit who can't coach to save his life sans Ben.

there are only about 40 NFL coaches in NFL history with a better career win percentage than Tomlin's... without Ben.

Including the games with Ben, Tomlin has the 11th best winning percentage of all time. OF. ALL. TIME.

But, yeah, he's unprepared, adds nothing, and he sucks.

Sometimes coaches get too much credit....

Barry Switzer won a SB

I will never ever buy that Tomlin is a good coach

Mediocre at best

Liars, damn liars and statisticians, B2B.

Can spin numbers different ways. Tomlin's won a playoff game in two of his eight seasons....including none over the last half of his tenure. All of a sudden, doesn't sound so damn impressive, does it?

Has Tomlin made some decisions that have cost us a few games, I'm sure he probably has. Have his teams underperformed at times, sure they have. Now name one coach who has coached as long as Tomlin who hasn't cost their teams some games with in game decision making or haven't ever had a team underperform. Bottom line, the dude has won 64% of his games and been to 2 bowls. Not to shabby for a shitty Coach.
