Over/Under Coach Brain Farts for KC-Stillers
OK, so arguably we have the 2 coaches with the greatest history of mismanaging the clock/situational brain farts in the last decade playing each under.
What are your predictions for the game?
Is one coach going to out-stupid the other?
Will the negative calls balance each other out?
I'll got with 2-2. 2 blunders by each coach.

Mike Tomlin: Bringing mediocrity to the 'Burgh for over a decade.

I hadn't even considered this coaching matchup. Ends of quarters and halves should be epic.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Fat Andy holding up that laminated Denny's menu to his face just cracks me up.....
How can this game not end up in a bumble fuck final drive that ends in a 53 yard FG attempt that hits the crossbar and ______?

I'm going with the outlier and that the error will be on Haley as he calls a trick play that kills a momentum drive.

Always a great pick.
Offense moving the ball at will? Great! Let's throw this triple reverse in there and see if we can't knock ourselves out of field goal range!

It was either Tunch and Wolf or Bob Gabriolla and David Todd talking about Tomlins clock management.
They were discussing the last PS possession before the half.
Steelers got ball after an Arizona FG with :43 seconds left.
Arizona has one time out left.
Steelers at their own 14.
At that point Vick was 2-4 for -1 yard...with the Steelers game plan showing zero confidence in Vick and the passing game.
They debating whether Tomlin should have taken a knee and gone to the half lucky to be down only 10-3 after a putrid offensive showing........
Given they did not trust him the entire half....but willing to risk another poor throw with back to the endzone.....vs a secondary and defense that had scored 5 TD's in the first 5 games.
A 17-3 halftime deficit was probably 10x more likely than was............an inept passing game getting anywhere near FG range.........or for that matter, a staff allowing him to make those longer passes to get there.
Made much more sense getting to the locker room, re-grouping and knowing they would be getting the ball to start the Third.
Now if Ben is under center.................you take those :43 seconds and 3 time outs and go after points.

Minimum of 17 INEXCUSABLE coaching blunders by Tomlin. None by Reid, or at least none that matter, because we don't compare our coaches to their peers.
The first coaching mistake will involve the coin toss, without question.

There's a Rob Ryan impersonator at Saints games as well, although it's a pretty weak impersonation.

Let's break this down.
there are 2 halves. 3 total possessions that will have some game management ramifications each half.
6 total end of half/end of game opportunities.
33% chance of a blunder for each possession = 2 blunders
You have to add at least one fourth and short or 2 pt blunder per coach. = 4 blunders
Then you add 1/2 a blunder for stupidity that can't possibly be predicted - ex. time running off the clock without the coach noticing
The over/under should be 4.5
I've got the over

So we'll have at least 26 threads about how Tomlin got some 'splainin' to do.

Well laid out, but I am going to take the under due to another attribute of these two.
There may only be 4 possessions each in this game as slower and slower play it close to the vest
They should have marty Schottenheimer and Herm Edwards as commentators for this game

You really can't get enough of projecting your mental weaknesses on everyone and everything around you.
The entire premise of the thread is comparing our coach to a peer. I defy you to find anyone on this board who thinks Tomlin makes more in-game blunders than Fat Andy Reid.
And then grasp the fact that, as a Steelers fan, I don't give a shit how often John Fox or Jim Caldwell fuck up. They're garbage. I'm concerned that our coach is routinely embarrassed by his two most important rivals and has shown no reason that will ever change.

Maybe the time/space continuum will collapse upon itself

You might be exaggerating for humorous effect, but if you're serious, given all of the coaches who've been fired in the last decade, I bet this isn't close to true.

Well, to be fair, one of them pretty much embarrasses everyone.

And the other stands at a 1-5 record right now - yes, with the unfortunate 1 win over the Steelers, but still wouldn't wanna trade places.

It's pretty close. Andy is an idiot who sets all of his excellence on fire with his laughable game management. Andy does so much well but can't be trusted with the keys.
Mike McCarthy is fired five years ago without Rodgers. He blew the NFCC worse than Carroll blew the Super Bowl.
The fired idiots do get their second chances like Caldwell or whatever dipshit hires Mike Smith.
He's not exaggerating. Andy Reid is TERRIBLE with game management.
The story I like to tell that illustrates this:
2012 Week 16.
Eagles trail the Redskins 27-20 and they get the ball at their own 15 with 4:15 left, all three timeouts and the two minute warning.
They drive all the way to the Redskins' five yard line before ultimately failing to score.
They didn't run out of downs at the goal line.
They ran out of time.
Seriously- think about that.
