Let's GO!

We can do this. We have a SB winning QB. We have world class WR's. We have a very decent RB. We have some bright spots on D, despite some recent struggles.

The schedule favors us. We can win out and go SBI with Swiss and we'll get into the playoffs with a head of steam.

I believe, baby.

And, happy holidays, brothers. It's December. It's our time.

Glad you left out the reference to the Head Coach this week, MJG.

That said, I don't think winning out is unrealistic.

MJG75 1st good to see you around...You're one of the posters I miss most from my time away from posting.

On the podcast we got into this a little.

You hear talk about a teams identity...Words and phrases centered around We and US are used

The best or great talent doesn't make the best TEAM

The Steelers are a talented group...I believe from a talent standpoint the Steelers are second to none...That may speak to the parody of the NFL or injury situations of teams. The Steelers are not a very good team at this point.

The Steelers say the right things
I believe the team is playing hard
The scheme and design of the offense and defense are far from perfect...No team is perfect.

There is a disconnect on this team.

The Steelers need an event or a rallying cry to bring this team together

This team needs a spark.

If I knew how to spark a team I would be doing consulting work for pro sports teams making millions of dollars.

Maybe Boykin is that spark. Players play...Coaches coach. As a player if you feel the team has a better option on the bench who is not playing for whatever reason...That can kill a team.

Maybe Heath Miller is that spark...He takes the needle...Slaps on the flat jacket and says lets go.

Maybe James Harrison is that spark...James Harrison is the boom stick of the front seven

A few sparks can light a fire...A fire can turn into an inferno.

You start with one win
One win can lead two
Two wins into 4 wins...Fuck me the team is in the playoffs burning like an inferno

The Steelers need to find the answers quick...Opportunity is knocking

I don't see us losing again. Not until August of 2016.

Did I see somewhere that Tomlin has never won more than 5 in a row? So, um, if you're thinking SB this team will need to lose to CLE or BAL..

Ben comes back, Tomlin doesn't = CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I think what favors us is so many shitty things have happened to this team since the offseason that some mathematical law has to say they're due for a positive stretch, right? Right? Someone? Ha

OK here's what I believe could happen. OL is solid, Ben and the O find 5th gear, and Butler/Tomlin find some answers on D.

I suppose you were going to point out that no Tomlin team has ever won 5 in a row so they unlikely to do so now? Which leads me to a question:

I know you like to use past performance to predict future performance, but when you do that, how would you ever be able to predict something happening that has never happened before?

Anyway, one game at a time. I say we beat Indy and go to 7-5. Anything can happen after that.

That may speak to the parody of the NFL

I was going to make a correction here...but on second thought, this sounds right! ;)

I don't use past performance to predict future performance...only as piece of data informing decisions on a risk-reward basis.

Of course the Steelers could knock off 9 straight wins and hoist their 7th Lombardi.

Before 2004, Bill Cowher had win streaks of 7 (1994), 8 (1995), and 7 (2001). Then his team reeled off 15 straight, so anything can happen.

He also never had a road playoff win in his career, having lost in Kansas City (1993), New England (1996), and Tennessee (2002). Then he whipped off three straight road playoff wins in 2005.

MJG, I love your optimism, there is in general far too little of that on sports message boards.

Let's go!

So when someone is all excited about this team winning the Super Bowl and talking about how they're going to win several games in a row, your purpose for coming into the thread and reminding everyone that the Steelers have never won that many in a row under Tomlin is...?

It's great to see both FC and MeanJoe posting here. Two of my favorite posters.

Terry Bradshaw always said when you get to the dance, make sure you dance with who brung ya. For this team, that means stop taking the fucking ball out of Ben's hands and let your franchise quarterback do his thing. Stop with the dumbfuck cute trick plays that have royally fucked this team this season.

To wit, and yes I'll beat the dead horse. The fucking fake FG. B2B said that yes it took the best players on offense off the field but it also took the starting Seattle defensive backs off too. But wasn't out offense doing a fucking tap dance on them anyway to the tune of over 400 yards passing?

You've also got a damn good RB in D'Angelo Williams. Use him for cripes sake!

Yeah I'm onboard for this team to go on an historic run. I'm onboard for Coach Tomlin to make us detractors look bad and fulfill STD's prophecy to coach the B&G for another 10 years. We're on to Indianapolis.

A blast from a fucking past!!!

Let's fucking GO!

I agree.

Team needs that spark. Could be Ben. Could be one of those you mentioned.

This is my favorite post of 2015.

Let's fucking GO!

We can do this. 5 in and we are in and let's go from there, B2B says we go all the fucking way, and I'm with that!!

Let's GO! We can do this.

We can win 5 in a row. OL step up, D step up. Everyone fucking step up. We can do it!!
