Titans Agree to Terms with CB Antwon Blake
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Titans have added competition in the defensive secondary with the addition of former Steelers cornerback Antwon Blake.
The Titans and Blake on Thursday agreed to terms on a one-year contract.
A 5-foot-9, 198-pounder, Blake started 16 games for the Steelers in 2015, his first year in that role. He recorded a career-high 76 tackles, one sack and two interceptions during the regular season, including one he returned 70 yards for a touchdown. Blake also recorded an interception, returning it 35 yards, in the team's playoff win over the Bengals.
He has experience under Titans defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, having played under him in Pittsburgh. On Wednesday, the Titans signed former Steelers linebacker Sean Spence.
Blake, 25, entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent with the Jaguars out of Texas El-Paso. He's played in 62 games in his first four NFL seasons.
In addition to a cornerback, he's been a valuable special teams contributor for the Steelers.
Earlier this month, the Titans signed former Dolphins cornerback Brice McCain. The team also returns cornerbacks Jason McCourty, Perrish Cox, Cody Riggs and B.W. Webb, among others.

Interested to see if they bring back Boykin or draft a corner. Either way I doubt it is a round 1 pick.

Maybe we could make them a package deal and include cam Thomas...
Good luck, Zilla!

I really loved Botkin's play but I think we're okay subtracting him and Blake, adding Golson and a draft pick with toughness and or size.
And I'm with you Perch-- that's a third round or later kind of situation.

Funny Tomlin thinks so little of him staying, yet continued to trot his untalented ass out as a starter every game last season. Make no mistake "Zilla" cost us at least 2 games (by himself) last year.
Amen brother!

And won us the game in San Diego. Or how about the huge fumble he caused last year late in the year against the Bengals that helped us win that game and the division?
Don't get me wrong, he was not a good player by any measure, but he still did some hugely positive things for this team the last few years. Wish the guy well.

Like it. Hopefully they aren't panicking about DLine depth enough to consider sCam thomas again. Hoping he gets signed elsewhere as well.

Don't worry. I'm sure the next man up, or another man up, will provide this forum for more vitriol, deservedly or not, come september.Donnie Brasco wrote:Our long national nightmare is over
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Well, Cortez and his contract are still on the team, so there's that.

What kind of compensatory pick would he bring? And does that come in this year's draft?

He stared all 16 games in 2016.
Not sure there is an exact science into how these comp picks are awarded.
I would have to think there is some kind of rating system that puts a number on a player in relation to draft value.......a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th.`
I am assuming its based on how much play time the player got and the size of the salary he gets from his new team.
Before they figure out the net of awarding comp picks to a team.
I would think a starter, at minimum, should bring back at least 6th or 7th round pick.

Yes. I'd agree to testify to that under oath.
