Antonio Brown

Post by Legacy User » Sun Jan 03, 2016 7:42 pm

Antonio Brown is 10 catches away from setting the single season record for catches. Ten catches. A Steelers receiver is 10 catches away from the single season record. I've been watching this team for almost 40 years, and I never thought I would type that.

Oh and that's after a 10 catch, 150 yard and a touchdown FIRST HALF.

I just shake my head sometimes in disbelief at how good he is. In the midst of some boneheaded coaching decisions and some poor play in other areas, I think we can all agree that Brown is an astonishingly good player and we are fortunate beyond measure to have him.

fuck the playoffs....need to get AB that record.

But since Wheaton and Bryant seem to have their heads up their asses, AB probably will get 10 more catches.

AB does deserve that record. Easily gets it if Ben is healthy all year, and probably the yardage record, too.

Ben comes back, Tomlin doesn't = CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'll take the playoffs anyday. I just wanted to post something positive.

Do post season catches count towards the record? Is he still able to break it next week?

Through regular season games. Record is held by Marvin Harrison with 143 receptions. AB had 13 receptions today for 187 yards... Think that puts AB's receptions on the single season at 136 if I'm accurate @ 1,834 yards receiving. AB had 129 receptions last season.

You are correct. He tied with Julio Jones for 136 receptions each, though Jones got about 40 more yards. Brown had more TD's. Both are now tied for second most receptions in a season.

AB has put together the best back-to-back seasons of any WR in NFL history. He finished this season with 136 catches for 1834 yards and 10 TDs + 1 TD punt return. That's 3 more TDs than Julio Jones, who's Falcons will watch the playoffs at home. AB pretty good for a 185 pound, 6th round pick. Credit to Ben as well.

i know i'm an indefensible moron, not to mention bad fan, for putting even the slightest bit of importance on stats, but...

FUCK Julio Jones for topping AB in what was essentially another wasted, under-performing season for that team

Julio Jones now has the second most receiving yards in a single season in NFL history, Brown is fourth (wouldn't have made it higher than third even w/Jones absent)

1. Calvin 'Beat Happening' Johnson - 1,964
2. Julio Fuckface - 1,871
3. The San Francisco Treat - 1,848
4. 'Downtown' Antonio Brown - 1,834

i don't know why i listed their names so annoyingly and will never do so again

using their per game averages, Ben and AB's stats could be as follows if Ben had started weeks 4-7:

Antonio Brown - 2,057 yards
Ben Roethlisberger - 5,250 yards (3rd all time), 28 TDs (eh), 21 INTs (ugh)
