the steelers staff taken a step back.
First OC has been a complete shit feast ( I guess Ben does make the OC)
The sudden loss of DD has crippled the WR Corps.
The Biggest loss as i have stated from the day he left is MM sorry the OL has taken 2 steps back under SS.
The Special teams again are so bad this season under DS
This is the promblem that really needs to be addressed come the end of the season.
But all who want Ben to retire or be traded better get used to seeing this type of offensive teams

Randy and Tomlin suck. Period. They are an embarassment.

Why in the fuck would you not pull Mason tonight???
You have a chance to win the game with a guy that clearly doesn’t have it.
You wanna win? Or you wanna be stubborn cunts?

More importantly, what have you seen over 6 games that made you think he could rally to win that game?

As I said in the game thread, I will give Tomlin and Randy credit for going super conservative with the playbook.
I think if I was king or this board was king for a day, we would have put the full playbook in for Rudolph.
He clearly can not do nearly anything Ben can do, they clearly understood MR’s limitations.
But then the talent evaluation comes into the forefront..coaches again...Randy and Tomlin.

Is it really surprising that after getting a margin of comfort, that they mailed it in on a short week?Orangesteel wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:56 amRandy and Tomlin suck. Period. They are an embarassment.
That's been the MO with this staff for years. They only put in the work when their backs are against the wall.

This team can also use a FULL TIME QB coach IMO.

When Mason was put back in the game after the 4th INT I was convinced he was going for the pent-fecta. And he probably would have if not for getting smacked in the brain with his own helmet.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 5:10 amWhy in the fuck would you not pull Mason tonight???

Honestly, I think this might be Tomlin's best season as a coach and I'm not a big Tomlin fan. Given the injury situation and loss of major skill players this was the first game we were non-competitive all season with the exception of the Pats game.

Maybe he'll win Coach of the Year when we finish 8-8 and we can all celebrate at home as we watch the playoffs?StillerInCT wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:19 pmHonestly, I think this might be Tomlin's best season as a coach and I'm not a big Tomlin fan. We’re not going 8-8.
They’ll be fortunate to win six games this season.
This offense is BAD...Kent Graham offense BAD!

If you want to take what I said to the extreme then sure. 8-8 this year given what's unfolded is a pretty good result in context. We've gone 8-8 with better teams. The Riddle of Steel wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:27 pmMaybe he'll win Coach of the Year when we finish 8-8 and we can all celebrate at home as we watch the playoffs?StillerInCT wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:19 pmHonestly, I think this might be Tomlin's best season as a coach and I'm not a big Tomlin fan. If you had a vote but you give it to Tomlin if we finish 8-8? Honest question. What about guys like Sean Payton, or Harbaugh or Kyle Shanahan or Pete Carrol? Have they done less of a job this year than Tomlin?StillerInCT wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 5:09 pmIf you want to take what I said to the extreme then sure. 8-8 this year given what's unfolded is a pretty good result in context. Me saying Tomlin is having his best season =/= saying that Tomlin deserves COTY. My bar for Tomlin is low. I was being facetious when I said "sure" because you took my initial statement to the absolute extreme.
Take a walk outside dude. Get some fresh air.

If Tomlin holds this team together for .500 record it will be amazing!
I am of the opinion that there is a Belichick, a grey area, and then the rest of the coaches. Tomlin is pretty high up in the list, in my humble opinion, with the rest of the coaches below the grey area.
Until another team lands the next Bill Belichick, we have a pretty good coach. Are we missing out on the next BB by keeping Tomlin? Yes.
Simple Head Coach formula coach=players+scheme
We need an upgrade on scheme, but barring the next BB, I guarantee we will lose on the player side of the coaching equation to get improvement on scheme. Through the Bell and AB fiasco, and the through the midpoint of this season it is still impressive that Tomlin keeps the train running and on time this season. He is tops on the player side of the equation if you are being objective relative to the NFL HC population, excluding BB; he has ample opportunities on the scheme side of the equation.
So again barring the discovery of the next BB, chances are a new head coach will just be a trade off between player management and scheme. I am willing to take the gamble to discover the next BB, but I will not go bonkers at seeing MT on the sideline, we generally have a pretty good chance at a ring yearly. I see the same boneheaded mistakes and opportunities with his peers in the top of the HC hierarchy on a week in and week out basis. Tomlin has no monopoly on his faults...that is a fact.

It looked to me last night that the coaches just said, "Fuck It" to preparing and thought they would just play and see where things go and adjust from there. Unfortunately for them, the have no fucking clue how to make in-game adjustments on the fly, so by the time half time came, the Browns dominated the half and were up 14. The Steelers go into the locker room, and the Defense comes out balling and virtually shuts down the Browns, which should have happened from the beginning! Fitchner sucks ass as OC. Boy wouldn't it be nice to find someone to step in and demote him back to QB coach (I'm really not sure I even want him now at all). But you can't hire a new OC mid-season unless you're packing it totally in for the season. I don't know if there is any one on staff that could step into the OC position now and changte things to get the offence going. It will be hard with so many guys "out" due to being targeted for helmet-to-helmet hits and Pouncey's suspension.

There is so much noise right now. Tomlin just needs to put on the tourniquet and get through the season.alancac98 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:35 pmIt looked to me last night that the coaches just said, "Fuck It" to preparing and thought they would just play and see where things go and adjust from there. No RB, No WRs, New Oline coach, dead receiver coach, no Ben, concussions abound, suspensions, TEs blow, QB blows. It is tough to make positive effective changes in this environment...might have to bite the bullet and just stay the course and take our lumps.
I don't believe they just mailed it in last night. I thought they made good adjustments on defense during the game. After allowing a TD on opening drive defense basically allowed only on scoring drive rest of the game. I won’t put the 10 yard drive on the D, that’s the offenses fault for creating that situation. Our offense lost the game last night, in particular our QB who had 4 interceptions and fumbled twice, which we were fortunate to recover.
Put another way, one coach works 40 hours and the other coach works 80 hours...."mailing it in" is semantics, but the point remains the same.

Hmmmm. As I said in the game thread, I will give Tomlin and Randy credit for going super conservative with the playbook.
Rudolph isn’t a rookie. Second year in the system and on the team. He’s a guy our staff had a first round grade on. A guy jay sling the ball around a lot in college.
Our offense is a joke and Rudolph looks worse the more he plays.
He is either a huge JAG they WAY overvalued or they have snipped his balls to the point the kid is seeing ghost and arrears to make a mistake.
I dunno.
What I do know and which is painfully evident is that Tomlin & Sphincter haven't done a good job of developing this kid.
I place more blame on Sphincter and the organization in general for not having a dedicated QB coach.
This offense is abysmal. Hard to watch.
In other words, the term “credit” doesn’t apply to anyone involved in this offense.
