Johnny Holton = poor man's Limas Sweed
Doesn't have size like Limas, but can get open like Limas and can drop em as good as ole Limas could....
Why isn't Dez Bryant signing a contract in Pittsburgh right now?

Terrell Owens wearing crisco covered mittens would catch more passes than Holton

Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS.

Someone who's a professional pass catcher can't catch passes. Shocking.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 8:54 pmWhat brilliant analysis.....

Dez is not going to play with this qb

What are the odds that Eli Rogers is on the roster Monday?

since no one has signed him for 10 weeks pretty goos and the rule is he know the system
You’re absolutely right Steelman...he knows the system. That’s the problem...Guys that were cut or retired 8-10 years ago, could come back and know the system. Nothing changes...we do what we do.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:34 pmsince no one has signed him for 10 weeks pretty goos and the rule is he know the system

Johnny Holton really sucks, might be the worst receiver I have ever seen. Seems the only route he can run is the 9 route, and can’t catch or track the ball for shit.
It's hard to believe there isn't a street FA or someone on a practice squad we could sign that's better than some of the guys we have. It's even harder to understand how they can't get the TEs heavily involved when the WRs and RBs are such a mess.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
i was done with Horton when he tried to cradle the contested deep ball.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 2:27 amJohnny Holton really sucks, might be the worst receiver I have ever seen. Seems the only route he can run is the 9 route, and can’t catch or track the ball for shit.

According to Depot, Terrelle Pryor wants to come to the Steelers. He would be an upgrade over this guy and could return kicks. Holton only runs the go route, so that shouldn't be hard to learn in 10 days.
Can he still playQB?jewelsongs wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 2:59 pmAccording to Depot, Terrelle Pryor wants to come to the Steelers. He would be an upgrade over this guy and could return kicks. Holton only runs the go route, so that shouldn't be hard to learn in 10 days.

Eli Rogers was quite a bit better receiver than either Holton or Switzer.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:34 pmsince no one has signed him for 10 weeks pretty goos and the rule is he know the system
Eli may have been a JAG, but those other two are nowhere near NFL receivers. People finally see now why OAK sent Holton to the practice squad after two years, I mean, he's nowhere near a JAG, and neither was Switzer.

I’d give him a whirl. They could put him in the backfield too. He is only 30. Practically went to school in Pittsburgh. They don’t need a traditional WR receiver to finish off the season.jewelsongs wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 2:59 pmAccording to Depot, Terrelle Pryor wants to come to the Steelers. Whats wrong with Tevin Jones? The guy has been a Steeler for few seasons now and made some decent catches Thursday night despite being overshadowed by the likes of Moncrief, Switzer, Rogers and a host of other no names that haven't produced shit in the NFL....Sometimes the answer is right in front of you.

They can keep Tevin. I am suggesting replacing Holton.
Crazy thing is this
If we can keep the current D in tact....and I know that’ll be hard $-wise, but it’s possible
Ben comes back healthy next year and we add ONE seriously good skill player
I think we have a championship caliber team
Who rides with that statement ?

Yep, that is the idea for next year.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 5:48 pmCrazy thing is this

Now don't confuse my post with some sort of conjecture here. I support bringing Jones up is all. I've never insinuated he'd be anything more than a solid WR target since there is such little talent to choose from. I simply suggested an obvious logical move.truckstoppornpatron wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 10:40 pmTevin Jones may well save the season.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 5:22 pmWhats wrong with Tevin Jones?
