I honestly think part of the reason for the Rudolph benching was fear of what will happen next week if he is the one behind center. I truly believe they will be going with Hodges.
We should go in and beat the living shit out of them. Not sure it'll go down that way because (this is gonna hurt) the culture on defense for both Pittsburgh and Baltimore seems set on 100 years of excellence on that side of the ball.
But that offense is dreck. They shouldn't score more than 10 and our offense is seriously rounding into form, should be able to score at least 21 again. Last line I saw was -2 for Pittsburgh and we had a 48% chance of winning. Betting that changes to us being slight favorites.

Rudolph is a 3rd round pick who is supposedly the future of the franchise, and the guy replacing him is a rookie UDFA who they originally waived.
Mason went 8/16 for 85 yards and 1 INT against Cinci. The INT was on a tipped pass, so not really on him. I've very rarely seen someone benched in such circumstances. With the regular starter out, no stable veteran and the only depth being an UDFA they don't think is their future - well, Mason should be playing out the season. I agree they're protecting him from the Browns, but likely because they know he said what he said.
I hope Rudolph plays next week, and gets hit so hard he’s knocked into sterility, so his fucking stain on the DNA of humanity isn’t foisted on another generation. Fuck him, and Pittsburgh, now and forever.

I don't care, sort of, if we get to the playoffs or SB. This is the game of our return. There's gonna be bad blood all over the field. I'm sure the refs are gonna warn them at the coin flip that they'll be flag happy if/when it gets out of control.
I'm confident we can keep our cool at the start because we controlled them throughout the last game and can do it again. Just don't want to see any cheap shots by the stoolers (wishful thinking) cause then all bets are off.
What I really want to see is more cameras checking out the stands. Pukesberg fans are the worst and stunts from them wouldn't surprise me.

You guys are right, the refs are going to call this game CLOSE!!! They are going to be throwing flags for unnecessary roughness if you SNEEZE on a QB (hopefully it is at least equal). Having Rudolph back there would probably guarantee the Browns get hit with 3-4 roughing the passer penalties and give the Steelers points they don't deserve.
Hodges back there and the Browns will play more under control...and it may actually be the Steelers trying for vengeance that are out of control.
