All I want for Christmas is a to beat those Ratbirds & no significant injuries to anyone on either team. It's Christmas, goodwill to all.

It'll be interesting to see how the Steelers attack the Ravens defense.
Ravens without a top corner, defensive line is tough and has already proven they can stop the run against your team.
Seems like a no-brainer, but this team absolutely 100% does live in its fears, and the fear is the offense turning the ball over or something.
That being said, and despite the fact a ton of money and 5 pro bowl players are on the offensive side of the ball, I fear it's going to be put in the hands of the defense today. Hopefully they get a turnover or two and force field goals instead of TD's.

3 hours to KO. So thankful to be a Steeler fan, another big game with playoff implications in Pittsburgh. Make it happen and drop Flacco. Here We Go Steelers!

I don't think I could have bigger pre game jitters if I was playing in this game. Steelers get it done with Ben, Bell, Deebo and Shazier in starring roles.

May Art Almighty send a crumbled Bischotti to that greasy dago domestic abuse supporting doofus. May the Whinebaugh continue to show his whining as we stick it under their noses.
May our comfy administration be jolted into a sense of reality and begin to tap out all the internal friction and suddenly have 160 football IQs and steer this rudderless ship out of the storm.
May the soldiers arrive at the ball with bad intentions

Seems like a no-brainer, but this team absolutely 100% does live in its fears, and the fear is the offense turning the ball over or something.
I'm betting that fear is nearly 100% that Ravens interior DL pushes Ben right into big and nasty edge rushers and they either take away the football or injure the franchise, ending our season. They force the run as a means of slowing down the pass rush. If we face a team with good edge rush but no interior push, it's no big deal for Ben to escape. Baltimore knows how to hem Ben in and we have to slow their roll.
A creative OC would attack the Ravens with quick passes inside the numbers but that's complicated by the fact that our receivers don't get off the jam well and some of our TEs take forever to get to the LB level of the pass defense.

It's a playoff game, let's face it. Those are never a sure thing.

I really don't give a fuck if there's significant injuries on the purple side of the ball...'specially if it's 1Q to Joe Fucco, et al.

I find rooting for other team's injuries is extremely bad mojo.

I think inactives are reported an hour or so before the game, so there's no word yet.

Heyward-Bey is up!
If he can block from the slot, and run a couple deep flys, that's a huge win! Man my only wish is that I could get to play in this game - so much less nerve wracking to play than watch!
Bummer about Tuitt but this is the matchup where guys make their mark ala AB in 2010. Based on re-watching that Cinci game I'm LOVING LT Walton today. I think he's going to out-athletic Ducasse and make some plays!
Merry Christmas - don't be nervous just enjoy the moment! We have the only player that matters ... #7. I'll take that every time.

Inactives for @Steelers: WR Coates, QB Mettenberger, CB JGilbert, T Mihalik, TE Green, DE Tuitt, OLB JJones
Is Jones hurt or is he just done as a Steeler?
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Mentioned this on podcast this week: He doesn't play STs and hasn't been getting any snaps on defense for two games. You decide.
Right now, he's an insurance policy in case one of the other OLBs gets hurt.

Agree with all of that.
I expect the Steelers will show a couple of wrinkles: Bell playing some slot WR with Deangelo at RB. Grimble in the Green role, instead of bringing James to that role and having Grimble play James's spot.
DHB and Ricardo Matthews and Deangelo all playing is extremely good news, especially in light of losing Tuitt, Coates, & Green.

Just saw the following so I'm assuming unless there's an injury, we won't see him on the field again:
Ed Bouchette Verified account
@EdBouchette
Stephon Tuitt out for Steelers. Ricardo Mathews in.
Jarvis Jones a healthy scratch

Every time I read about something wrong with Coates it makes me pissed at Bryant all over again.

This scares me a bit. Ayers hasn't played all year and will play in the biggest game of the year so far. I wonder if his head is in the right place - or will be in critical moments.
