Injury Updates

Post by Pabst » Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:17 pm

The Good News:

Zucker was in full equipment and went through drills with one of the coaches.

The Bad News

Blueger, Tanev, Malkin all absent from practice today

Tanev is "day to day" with an upper body injury.

Malkin is "in the process of rehab. He has not gone on the ice yet"

The Very Bad News

Pens have been dead silent on Blueger. That's.....not good. Although, Teddy is in a contract year and this could hurt his value? Maybe?

Like I said in another post, the video of Zucker was encouraging.

I'm just going on swami gut and past injury history with Malkin- I don't think we see him for another 2 weeks. Just because he isn't on the ice doesn't mean he isn't getting better.

Blueger's situation might mirror Zuckers.
When Zucker got hurt it was deemed long term and that was a month ago. I was thinking at least two months after watching him crash feet first into the boards.

I noticed a name on the Pens roster that I don't remember seeing prior, Radim Zohorna. He has a two contract with the Pens and WBS and he is a huge fucker.

Weird not playing on a Tuesday night.

Updates for 3/31:

Brandon Tanev was a full participant in practice. Teddy Blueger practiced with a no-contact jersey, and skated with the taxi squad

Tristan Jarry did not practice, but is listed as "day to day" with an upper body injury

Neither Malkin nor Kapanen are skating yet.

Thanks for the update.

Some good news. Glad Jarry is only day to day.

Malkin was back on the ice skating yesterday. No timetable on his return according to Sully.
Blueger skated in 'full capacity' but is a no go tonight.
Marino had a maintenance day as well. He has had what, maybe 4-5 of those this season? Sounds like a guy playing with a lingering injury.
