POJ needs to be cut tomorrow. He’s awful. Doesn’t hit and doesn’t clear out.

Also cut Reilly Smith.

What a bitch.

If he even skates 80 percent he has a tap in there.

What a terrible and weak player.

Malkin deserves a goal tonight.

He’s playing possessed right now.

I think I’ve seen more defensemen deep in the offensive zone these past few games than I have since the Cup days. Letang and Karlsson have both spent significant time on the attack. Graves too.

Makes me think it’s a very purposeful effort to be more aggressive and, as Sully likes to say, harder to play against.

Results have been very positive. Largely because the forwards are playing responsibly and rotating back when needed.

This is basically what I envisioned when we traded for Karlsson.

Both of these teams are garbage. We are done.

I’m literally sitting two rows from the glass and what I see from the Pens is a wildly average hockey team.

You’re seriously insufferable, man.

Completely unable to have a rational conversation beyond “everyone sucks”.

Take a walk.

Bet you can’t do it.

To update the other, more reasonable folks who didn't stay up, Pens actually played one of the most complete games I've seen out of them this season.

Chances galore. Skated hard as hell. They were super aggressive and disruptive on the forecheck. Taking every open shot they had (almost to their detriment, because there were a few times where I felt they took shots that were almost guaranteed to get blocked).

Pens were buzzing and dominated probably 75% of the game.

Malkin was a monster all game, at both ends of the ice.

Letang and Karlsson both played to their strengths in being dynamic players utilizing the entire 200ft of ice surface. Jarry was incredible again.

I don't think they scored on the Power Play, but it actually looked good all the same. They got tons of shots and their fair share of good scoring opportunities. They definitely played more for the ugly goals than the pretty ones, which is a huge step up from what we've seen the rest of the season.

Just one of those games were it seemed fate pre-determined they weren't going to win it.

One goal was an absolutely terrible bounce that shot straight up in the air, came down, and ricocheted off a player and in.

Second goal was on a power play caused by Eller's stick bouncing up into a guy's face.

Thanks for the recap.
If they play hard/smart then that is all you can ask. Luck is fickle

Agreed Malkin played hard and agreed the Kraken had puck luck. Smith does not skate at 100%. In fact I’d say he skates around 60-70% each shift.

My three stars of the game:

1. Jarry
2. Malkin
3. Me for paying that price to watch the Pens in person not score a single goal.

We still need to be winning 3 out of 4 games to sniff the dance. I’m not enthusiastic about us doing that.

I dunno shit about hockey but seems to be THE sport most subjected to outplaying your opponent and still losing.

Ex…dominate play, tons of shots, move score, other team goes fown, shooots it off someone’s ass and in the net.
