These two are playing some sick hockey right now.

This Pens team is fun to watch…some gelling happening.

For the first time in a long time, I just got the center ice package…
Fun team to watch right now

Ugh...lose on a shitty goal late, after coming back to tie

Pens got absolutely outworked last night. If it wasn’t for Silovs playing one of this best games of the year that would have been a drubbing

Really good game by the young guys tonight in Buffalo against a Buffalo team that’s been playing well.

Two for Kindel and two for Avery. Kid not only lit the lamp twice but was skating his ass off on the back check.

Keep it rolling baby. Points in their last 5 road games

Two goals by a 23 year old.

Two goals by an 18 year old (granted, one was an empty net).

0 goals and 1 assists by anyone over the age of 35.

And that's not a knock on the old guys, just excitement that the old guys don't have to shoulder the load 100% of the time anymore.

I'm not saying we're cup contenders quite yet, but it does feel somewhat like the 2015-2016 year when we had a whole slew of young guys come up into the NHL and give a shot in the arm to the entire organization that they rode to a cup run. That's even the year they changed coaches, giving another parallel.

Another parallel is I feel like Chinakhov is this team's version of Kessel. They both just have that killer wrist shot that drive goalies bananas, and a knack for getting themselves in position to use it. Chinakhov probably eats less hot dogs, but is more useful in the defensive end, at least.

Contender or not, this team is fun as hell to watch. I love watching Kindel. He's like a puppy out there who has boundless energy and puts it into everything he does. An annoying gnat that drives the other team nuts. You can tell at times when opposing d-men get a little nonchalant retrieving the puck from their end, then get visibly frustrated when they realize someone like Kindel or Novak races in to beat them to it last second. You can almost see them saying in their heads "You're not supposed to be trying this hard in the regular season!".

Avery Hayes obviously isn't going to score 2 goals per game, but as others have said, he was everywhere on the ice.

I love enjoying Pens hockey again!

First year coach for 09 cup as well. Funny seeing this geeky looking, D III coach leading this team!!

Funny thing about last night....didn't realize both anthems are sung in Buffalo, regardless
Of who's playing, given proximity to Canada. 🇨🇦 I guess bills do the same.

Good stuff Lipps. This is as fun as they have been to watch in years. And the young guys are the reason behind that.

Avery nearly had a hat trick last night on a shot towards the end of the 3rd period before we went up 4-2. This little nifty move he made to fire of the snapshot was super impressive and he nearly batted the rebound into the net out of midair like Crosby does.

There are still some sloths on this team (Haynes) but if the young guys keep playing like that the new look Pens will continue to win.

Also, Chinakhov and Malkin are feeling it right now. That’s a great pairing.
Tommy Novak deserves credit for working with those two.

Am I nuts or is Chinakhov's wrister beyond Phil Kessel territory? What a sniper.

Sid leaves the Canada-Czechia game with an apparent leg injury in the second period and doesn't return.

He reportedly had some imaging done to determine the extent of the injury, but I haven't seen any reports on the results yet.

His Team Canada coach hinted that it "won't be Sid's last game at the olympics", but who knows if he was trying to lighten the mood of his team because he said it in the 2nd intermission.

What a gold medal game. US had no right winning, but Hellyubuk carried them to a gold anyways.

Have to think it's a much different game with a healthy Sid out there. But them's the breaks, as they say.

By the way, Jack Hughes will be playing in Pittsburgh on Thursday for both teams' first games back from break.

I expect the Pens to have a nice tribute for him, and expect the fans to give him a great ovation.

I also expect Sid to watch these things and score 9 goals that game to kick off his Olympic Revenge tour.

Netted a 2nd round pick today. Keep accumulating picks/players, Dubas. Show the Steelers how this rebuild thing is done.
