Great win last night, and survived the 5 game malkin suspension with 6 points,, including....
-down 3-0 against Boston, win in OT
-down 4-2 against Carolina, tie it with a pair of empty netters in final 2 min, to gain a point
-down 2-0 in first 6 min last night in friggin Salt Lake City, come back to win in regulation.
Hopefully, Sid is back soon. For you asshats into "likeability" for your sports teams, this is a VERY likeable team!!

They've proved exactly what we've all been saying lately....Sid and Malkin no longer need to shoulder the load for this team. The old farts can now be complimentary players and the team will be even better for it, and I think that scared the ever living shit out of the rest of the league.

Even when poorly coached and GM'd for the last several years, the Pens have remained probably Pittsburgh's most likeable team, for me. This year's team? Very likeable, maybe the most since the McCutchen Buccos teams that were wildcard/playoff bound for a few years, and the early Killer B's (before 2/3 of them revealed themselves to be total turds) Steelers teams. The early Ben teams and the Cup champ Pens teams are, obviously, on a different level entirely.
I'll add that I'm always ready to jump on with the Buccos come Opening Day, and this year looks like a fun, and possibly even successful squad.
I'd be more likely to head back to Pittsburgh for a Paul Skenes Buccos game or a Pens game than a Steelers game at this point in my life, sadly.

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
