LLOYD!!!! Part 2

2.) Jonathan Taylor 5’11 219 RB Wisconsin- True to my word, if a top 4 rb falls to the Steelers in Rd 2, I’m picking him. Dig this Badger Bell Cow. Kid AVERAGES 2,000 yds per season. Offers much needed production to a highly unproductive running back group. Day 1 starter.

3C) Jared Pickney 6’4 260 TE Vanderbilt- Pickney? Again Drama? Sure why not. Down year at Vandy pushes him down. Oh I haven’t given up on the idea of signing a premier TE free agent such as Austin Hooper. I just know that it’s unlikely to happen. Most a pity.

4T) Quartney Davis 6’2 200 WR Texas A&M- Can’t be a sleeper if people keep writing about him. Very flashy route runner with good speed and RAC skills. Day 3 should offer some day 2 talent but I’m not conforming to the belief the Steelers are fine at WR. Oh No. Not ever buying that. But I am buying that the Steelers don't have enough picks this year to properly address it.

4) Lloyd Cushenberry 6’4 315 OC LSU- LLOYD!!! I so miss Entourage. Hate to mock 'ol Lloyd here yet again, but a center/guard prospect from the OL voted as the best in college football feels like a no-brainer. Get your shit together Pouncey..

6) Benito Jones 6’1 329 DT Mississippi- This former 5 Star ‘Bama signee is right in Karl Dunbar’s wheelhouse. Elite run stopper who chimed in with 5.5 sacks for a Rebel defense that held opponents to only 70 yds rushing avg per contest.

7) Jared Mayden 6’0 200 S Alabama- Like stud safety Eddie Jackson before him, Mayden came to Tuscaloosa to play corner but ultimately found his niche at safety. Versatile kid that can play multiple positions for Coach Austin’s defense.

Thanks as always for reading. Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t . SEC heavy mock. THAT my friends is where the big boys play. Geaux Tigers.

you have one of my man-cush(sic) in the draft.

I am a fan of Cushenberry. he is a bit raw but has a lot of talent. Right were I see the Steelers getting him.

I do not think the Steelers will draft a RB even if one of the top 5 are there. They are just too conservative with their players and will not give up on any of their RBs that they drafted. Even though I think Conner will most likely not be in a Steeler uniform when his contract runs out, I just do not see them drafting a RB this year.

The Steelers are probably content with their running back group.
I am not.

Too many 2nd and 10s.
Too many 3rd and 9s.

Analytics favors a modern passing game but I think all that is set up from an effective ground attack.

5 of the 6 top rushing teams are still in the playoffs.
The Steelers are once again not even in the playoffs.

A good running game matters and the Steelers absolutely do not have one.

I understand that fully and subscribe to your newsletter but the Steelers are conservative in player management and will not cut one of their draft choices that has not played out their rookie contract. Especially ones that have started games and have, at times, looked good.
