Ok college football fans the season is FINALLY upon us.

More excited I could not be.

12 team playoff

Conference realignment

No more directional state cupcake games for the big boys (well not as many)

Coach Prime and his gun totin’ lot vs the World, THE WORLD!

I think it’s all beyond AWESOME

So Who ya got?

Of course I’ve got my ‘Dawgs but who else?

The Buckeyes are LOADED

On both sides of the ball

KST transfer QB Will Howard can just play handoff monkey with Quinshon Judkins and Trey Henderson if Chip Kelly wants to, but too many weapons to go all UCLA conservative.

I’m circling that Oct 12th Buckeyes at Eugene showdown on my calendar.

Shit-ton of NFL talent will be on display while the Big Ten title hangs in the balance.

Texas a talented crew, but already lost stud rb CJ Baxter for the year.

I’d like to see Arch unseat that Ewers fella as the starter should the Horns stumble out of the gate.

Bama ain’t going away (Saban will be GREAT on GameDay).

Do not sleep on Jalen Milroe (more on him later).

I’ll be in Bryant Denny for the Dawgs visit to T-Town on the 28th.

Giddeeeeup Bitches!

scUM still loaded on defense, but I look forward to those cheatin’ bastards missing the playoffs.

Happy Valley fans?

What say you??

Is this the year James Franklin wins a meaningful game???

New OC, Andy lots of syllables, going to unlock Allar’s potential or just ride the two stud rbs????

I think Franklin sneaks his boys into the playoffs.

WVU and sleeper QB Garrett Greene going to compete in what I think is a really fun revamped Big 12?

Pitt sucks goat balls

Should’ve shown Nardumzi the door after a beyond bad 2023 season.

Soooo not a fan of that arrogant toolbox.

Also never been a fan of Pitt playing at Heinz Field.

UPMC needs to open up the coffers for an on-campus stadium.

Bring the college game day experience back to Oakland.

Long overdue

Cheap bastards

Wish I had a sleeper team for you.

Arizona will be a fun team in the new Big 12 (12?) but all I really see are the two STACKED super conferences, SEC and Big Ten (10?).

Nebraska stole local STUD freshman qb, Dylan Raiola, a Pat Mahomes CLONE, from the Dawgs and my son’s HS here in GA. Matt Rhule’s NIL bought team could surprise.

I really like the Vols here in SEC country.

They’re going to put up points with the top player in America, Nico Lamaleava running the show.

Place your dollars on the over when they play... gooood-nesss...they're going to be a fun watch

Anyway,

The modern day athlete is beyond fragile (just ask my transplant hometown Braves).

The healthiest/hottest teams will have the best shot in the playoffs.

I hate to go chalk on y’all, but I’ve got Georgia and Ohio State playing for the Natty.

GO
DAWGS!

…And with that, here’s my first mock to kickoff the 2024-25 football season:

1.) Jalen Milroe 6’2 220 QB Alabama- First of many times I’ll get a scoff out of you this season. Kalen Deboer turned Michael Penix into the surprise 8th overall pick by my transplant hometown Falcons. Saban’s successor will have a similar impact on the uber exciting Milroe over in T-Town. Let Russ Cook for a year or two, then hand the reigns over to a young, stud qb. Will be lots of them to mock (and mock) this season.

2.) Jordan Hancock 6’1 195 CB Ohio St- WHEW did I mention the Buckeyes are LOADED?! Rosy-Red Cheeks is done fuckin around! Oh yeah, The Hancock kid. Former Drama student was a Clemson 4 star recruit before transferring to Columbus. A MUCH more physical player than more ballyhooed teammate Denzel Ward, I hope to see my guy Jordan wearing black and gold next fall. Buckeye fans keep an eye on D-linemen Kayden McDonald as well a Eddrick Houston, two highly touted Suwanee area kids my son played football with before his retirement from the game last fall.

3.) Jordan Burch 6’6 290 DE Oregon- Mocked this former 5 Star Cock a few times last year especially after watching him and fellow Duck Brandon Dorlus abuse Saints 1st rounder Taliese Fuaga.

4.) Dillon Bell 6’1 210 WR Georgia- Often comped to fellow ‘Dawg and Steelers’ legend Hines Ward for his ability to play multiple positions in the Georgia offense, Bell will be a big play weapon for Carson Beck and the Dawgs this fall. Should the Steelers utlimately fail in their epic quest to trade for Brandon Aiyuk, they can always sign him as a FA (should he in fact hit the open market of course).

5.) Oscar Delp 6’5 245 TE Georgia- He’ll do his best Brock Bowers impression and find himself a day 2 pick this spring. Book it, Dano. I pray Omar doesn’t extend “Muuuuuth”. Time to move on from that.

6.) Hopefully THIS is the pick we lose in the Justin Fields trade.

7.) CJ Donaldson 6’2 215 RB West Virginia- My guess is Omar and his boys noticed this explosive fella (and QB Garrett Greene) while scouting stud center Zach Frazier down the road in Morgantown. A more exciting rb class you will not find, but instead of tapping into that talented pool, the Steelers will resign my guy Najee. You know it and I know it (ok hopefully not).

Thanks as always for reading. Please comment on the players AND college teams you like this year and those you don’t. Thank the good lord above for college football because Tomlin sure didn’t have the troops ready to play Friday night. That was 300 pound vagina slop-py. Hopefully, better days are ahead for OUR beloved Steelers

The only pick I do not like :-) Milroe was improved last year but still not very good. Not a fan other than another team picking him and letting Ward or Beck or Ewes fall to the Steelers

I'm not totally sure I see what Milroe brings to the room that Fields doesn't already at this point. Milroe could certainly improve as a passer this season, but Fields completed 68%, had a 9.2 YPA, 67/9 TDs/INTs ratio for his 2.1 year career at tOSU with similar talent, and he hasn't worked out as an NFL passer. What I'm saying, I guess, is it would take a LOT of improvement on Milroe's part.

Really could get behind pretty much every other pick, or at least be convinced, though. First mock of the 2024 CFB season sure put a smile on my face!

Go Bucks!

Great work Drama.

As I've stated in other threads, there are going to be a lot of disappointed posters when the Steelers don't draft a QB next year.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I've stated the same, but I'm waffling.

Russ hasn't stepped on the field yet, but Fields appears to be handing him the starting job and perhaps a contract extension (hopefully a short, cheap one).

Still,

If Omar has the job security I think he has, I'm going to guess he has the autonomy to handpick his qb of the future.

Maybe it's in this draft or the next, but Omar is going to take his swing.

My guess is that it will be an athletic specimen from a big time program...such as...ALA-BAMA

I understand the Milroe angst...a lot of Bama fans aren't even Milroe fans...but the athletic talent is undeniable. Excitement on a stick.

Hell, Kirby Dumb cost himself a shot at a 3 peat after assigning not just one, but TWO spies on Milroe during the SEC title game.

Anyway, perhaps Omar and his scouts want a traditional pocket passer, but their infatuation with Fields tells me otherwise.

I'm not married to Milroe, plenty of gunslingers to discuss once the season starts, but don't be shocked he becomes a hot name after Deboer turns him into a Heisman winner.

Athletic talent is what a lot of draft-niks love. Being able to make accurate passes from the pocket is what makes a QB in the NFL. All these QBs have one more season to show us improvement. I think Beck and Ward will be high in the next draft. Ewes, maybe. Milroe has not shown enough but because he can move around people will rate him higher than Beck. They may have him the #1 QB. I HOPE Milroe is the #1 QB because that pushes down the others that I like :-)

We don't think the tracks on the Shedeur Sanders hype train run all the way to the #1 pick?

I think he will be picked high. Not live up to the pick but have a decent career anyways. He has shown nothing to make me think can be a franchise QB in the NFL(yet) but YMMV

I could see Tomlin developing a massive draft crush on Sanders.

IDK…I can’t see Tomlin wanting any part of that circus.
