1.) Luther Burden III 5’11 208 WR Missouri- “We can’t just ignore the plight of the inner cities. See the plight, kids? ‘BANG!’ Roll ‘em up!” Former homeless kid whose Game Day story of giving back to the youth of the east St. Louis community will surely attract Tomlin (moth to a flame). Burden’s stats took quite the tumble this year, but this YAC monger has a 5 star pedigree offering versatility that a creative OC could…ohhh wait…never mind.

2.) Alfred Collins 6’5 320 DT Texas- Big ‘sum bitch. Going to be tested tomorrow night by the dynamic duo of Quinshon Judkins and Trey Henderson. Go Buckeyes!!!

3.) Nicholas Singleton 6’0 227 RB Penn State- “Again, Drama???” Yep. Deep class of RBs but he’ll be a Steeler. The Irish defense wasn’t challenged against my ‘Dawgs anemic ground attack. Singleton and Kaytron Allen a much different animal. Tonight’s game SHOULD be a defensive slugfest, but I look for the crew from Happy Valley to prevail (barring yet another big game meltdown from Jimmy Franklin of course).

4.) Ozzy Trapilo 6’8 310 OT Boston College- “WTF is an Ozzy Trapilo?” I’m not sure exactly. I am sure that the Steelers’ offensive line is a hot mess as per usual. Lotta pre-Senior Bowl buzz around this Golden Eagle. Good -bye Oscar Meyer. Your baloney has a second name it’s P-A-T and YOU SIR, SUCK!

5T) Johnny Walker 6’3 255 EDGE Missouri- “What’s the difference between John Wayne and Johnnie Walker? Johnnie Walker is still killing Indians.” KING Henry?!?! He’s a dead man! MARK ANDREWS?!?! DEAD! LAMAR MVP JACKSON?!?! Dead. -ish. Wake the fuck up, Watt.

6T) CJ West 6’2 317 DT Indiana- In the words of the immortal Wilbur “Shooter” Flatch, “Now, boys, don’t get caught watchin’ the paint dry!” If only Tomlin would follow such sound advice. YOU SUCK, TOMLIN!

7) Kurtis Rourke 6'5 223 QB Indiana- “I know everything there is to know about the greatest game ever invented.” Yeah. So does Hoosiers Head Coach Curt Cignetti. Just ask him or “Google” him. Fantastic resurrection of a long dormant football program keyed by the one time top recruit in all of Canada. Former Ohio U Bobcat showed outstanding toughness playing through the season with a torn ACL. Doesn’t excuse subpar performances against the big boys Ohio State and Notre Dame, but he's well worth a day 3 flier for your QB starved Pittsburgh Steelers.

7) Jailin Walker 6’1 220 LB Indiana- “I ain’t no gizzard.” Nooo Buddy, you’re not a gizzard but Mike Tomlin is. Going to take a Hickory hoops type effort to beat them Ravens on Saturday night. Go Steelers!!!

Thanks as always for reading. Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t. Rare snow day here in glorious Suwanee, GA tomorrow so my 5 straight days of playoff football are off to a fantastic start. Stay safe out there.

I can definitely chime in on my Hoosiers that you've mentioned:

I was very happy with West's play this year. He was a big get out of the portal for IU; I wasn't super impressed with tape from Kent State. But he far exceeded my expectations. He was very hard to run at, the staff told him when he came here that he needed to get stronger. He took the hard coaching and really improved. He even showed more wiggle rushing the passer than I expected. I think he can make it as a rotational, run specialist type.

I think Rourke could end up being a decent backup QB in the league. He's going to interview well. No one will question the toughness, they will question if his knee can hold up long term. Someone will take a chance and draft him I think. Still has a lot to prove, like you mentioned he didn't look good against better competition.

Walker is a freak, I'm curious to see how well he's going to test. Think Ivan Pace without the quick first step. Again, another guy who could make it as a last LB type of dude. He's really small, so I don't know how long he holds up...was nicked up a few times this year.

Again, from what I hear all of these dudes are standup guys.

I'm on the Nick Singleton bandwagon, he's talented.

You're right, Burden would be wasted in Pittsburgh. Shame, dude is super talented.

Collins is talented for sure, if he was more consistent I'd be okay taking him in Round 4.

Need to do my homework on the OT from BC and Walker from Missouri.

As always, great work Drama!

Well a deep running back class got a little thinner today

Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen staying in Happy Valley.

Now hit that portal for some wide receivers there Franklin

Get ready for Omarion Hampton in every mock he does the rest of the way.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

It's early, and players could fall and others could rise and push a guy down, but I'm thinking a WR in round one is looking like it would probably end up being a pretty big reach for a 2nd-tier player at 21, at least as things stand right now. Same with RB, though I've got a sinking feeling it's going to be one of those positions.

This times a lot. And you can throw QB in the mix, also a reach and also a sinking feeling that it's in the mix for 1.21.

i will be praying that some other team ahead of the Steelers picks Milroe before they have a chance.

The stuff I've been reading is Milroe is a really good interview and coaches are going to come away impressed with him as a person. Tomlin catnip. I could see it happening.

Very bad news for the Steelers woulda been a perfect duo in Pittsburgh

I still like Damien Martinez late 3rd day

God fucking hope they don’t draft Milroe or a WR in round fucking one. JFC.

I could live with Hampton in round one if they added Martinez in the 7th

Hampton Martinez Warren is a pretty good unit. Possibly mismatch unit potential with some better offensive schemes

I'd take a combination of Henderson 2nd and Monangai in the 4-5th. Our own little version of Gibbs and Montgomery, and sure, throw Warren in there at RB3ish.

We have 7ths to burn, so sure, Martinez and/or your guy McCoy from Tennessee.

Sorry about Singleton and Allen.

I'll take the 4.39 game-breaking speed. If you're going to be a run-first first team, best to be able to actually generate chunk plays out of 60% of your offensive snaps.

I'm also a Martinez guy, very underrated. I actually liked him before the move to Miami, saw some tape of him at Oregon State and was impressed.

Typical Steelers draft in some ways but I could live with it

1 Omarion Hampton RB NC State
2 Trade down 3 + 4

4 Robert Spears-Jennings S Oklahoma
4 DeMonte Capehart DL Clemson
5 Ricky White WR UNLV
7 Damien Martinez RB Miami
7 Jasheen Davis OLB Wake Forest
7 Trey Moore LB Texas
UDFA Bru McCoy WR Tennessee
UDFA Malik Carr TE Houston
UDFA Miles Hinton OT Michigan
UDFA DJ Uiagalelei QB Florida State
UDFA Tommy Mellott QB Montana State

For what it's worth, Chip Trayanum could very likely be just as good an NFL back as Najee is, given the same usage rate. Hard worker, durable, decent size, gets tough yards, doesn't fumble, what stuck out to me was how good he was in pass protection. Not really an outlier in anything, but pass pro, but solidly average in most respects.

EDIT: Trayanum's going with the Kenny Pickett schedule, huh?

Gonna be at the top of Charles Demarr's wish list. No idea why all the transfers but he can play. I had him very highly ranked in this class, which is saying something.

I get the transfer away from tOSU. Came right around the time the Henderson/Judkins combo was being put together. Players talk. He was serviceable when Henderson went out for a couple games that year, but Day just shifted into full pass-happy mode with no Trey, so he didn't get a lot of carries to shine. When you're coming in for a guy as electric as Trey can be, though, it's hard to really impress no matter what. Not sure about why he left Kentucky, other than he just wasn't getting enough clock there, either. He'll definitely get snaps at Toledo, and hopefully coming home-ish can be a nice end to his NCAA journey.

He's got that Willie Parker plus of not having a lot of tread off his tires, though, despite the age he'll come in at next year.
