Ryan has his Day

1.) Emeka Egbuka 6’1 205 WR Ohio State- Can we draft Chip Kelly too? Freakin masterclass coordinating on both sides of the ball for the Buckeyes after that humiliating home loss to scUM. Nothing cheap about this Natty. The upstart Bucks rolled through a tough gauntlet that included the Vols, Oregon, Texas, and a scrappy Irish bunch enroute to their first title in a decade. Good Stuff.

2T.) Tyleik Williams 6’3 327 DT Ohio State- Bye George (I don’t think he’s got it). If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than if the Steelers traded Pickens for a 2nd round pick, but such is my excitement for drafting another STUD from the farm team.

2T.) Quinshon Judkins 6’0 219 RB Ohio State- VIOLENCE. Your boy Tomlin claims to like that word so let’s give him what he wants. Once upon a time ‘ol “Jud” here lead the SEC two years in a row in missed tackles before forming a dynamic duo with soon to be mocked TreVeyon Henderson. Trading down here to get a couple picks to play with.

3) Azareyeh Thomas 6’2 198 CB Florida State- “Again, Drama?” Ohh yeah. Kid’s going to be the steal of the draft. Book it, Dano. Cam Sutton and Donte Jackson can’t get off my team soon enough.

4) Malik Verdon 6’4 220 S Iowa State- Elivs, Madonna, Prince…Minkah? Which one of those names doesn’t belong? No bigger fan of Minkah than me, but dude’s living on reputation. Perhaps that reputation has trade value, but I don’t anticipate any names on Tomlin’s defense getting moved (status quo Steelers are maddening).

4T) Chase Lundt 6’8 305 OT UConn- Next up? The Senior Bowl. My hope is this tall, athletic, people mover catches Tomlin’s (bug) eye in between mugging for cameras down in Mobile. I also hope Pat Meyer is given his walking papers (dream on, Drama).

5.) Ty Robinson 6’6 310 DL Nebraska- Big ‘ol farm boy right here. Hoping he’s more Aaron Smith than Jeremy Staat. Get Larry O off my team with the quickness!

6T.) Kyle McCord 6’3 220 QB Syracuse- Ran out of Columbus on a rail after last year’s loss to scUM, kid missed his shot at a Natty. Yep, Will Howard won the title, but he’ll be overdrafted. McCord? Underdrafted. Kid can sling it.

7.) Nick Martin 6’0 220 LB Oklahoma State- Claim to fame is running down Xavier Worthy from behind (not a bad claim). Steelers seemingly always have a need for speed (easy Tom Cruise).

7.) Thomas Fidone 6’6 255 TE Nebraska- “Lay off Muuuth, Drama. He gives great headache.” Surprise addition to the Senior Bowl roster, this ‘Husker was once upon a time rated the top TE coming out of HS back in 2022. Knee injury slowed his development, but playing with Buford, GA’s Dylan Raiola will garner some attention.

Thanks as always for reading. Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t. Overall, I enjoyed the college playoffs, but 12 teams is too many (broken record I am). Winning four games just too long of a road to win the Natty. It’ll get worse with greed ruling CFB, but I think 8 teams the perfect number. Go Buckeyes!

Fully endorse the first three rounds  8-)

It'd even cause me to go out of my way to find out of market Steeler games next season. I wish Egbuka would be there when we draft, but something tells me gone, daddy, gone. Williams, sheesh, I've mentioned it'd be great to find our next great NT when the candidate was scUM last week. This would be a far, far better scenario. Judkins has a lot of tread off his tires, but he's a beast, truly a mother of violence at the position, and I'd love to come out of this draft with one of those Buckeye RBs, too. My preference is the aforementioned Henderson, but I'm sure a certain poaster will chime in that they "can't play RB for the Steelers," as if that's been a huge positive the last, what, since 2014. The CB from FSU has some talent, and I'll happily research the rest once my sleep-deprived butt gets back from work and takes a nap.

Go Bucks!

McCord has that Jared Goff thing going where if everything is perfect around him, he looks all pro, but when you get to him, you really get to him. Pitt game this year, for instance, even in his upstate New York Renaissance.

Wouldn't surprise. Great player on a team that had a tough go of it.

His 40 time will wash away the memory of his tackling tape. He can sure cover though.

So, maybe not best suited for the patented Tackle The Catch Defense?

I think he's sort of a JPJ, so he may well be on the radar. Can't figure out where he is going to go as far as draft slot. Before the season, he wasn't considered a top 350 player, then moved to rd 4-7... lately talk of him being like the third CB selected. We'll see at Senior Bowl, where the WR/DB and 7-on-7 practices should suit his game.
