The Guys I Couldn’t Pass on at 20
Devin White LB LSU
Josh Allen OLB Kentucky
Jachai Polite OLB Florida
Brian Burns OLB Florida State
I think it’s prretty obvious we’d be lucky if any of the first three guys I listed fell that far but I’m big fan of Burns too.

White and Allen would be a dream come true.
I don’t think they go OLB in the first, because they will do what they do and extend Dupree.

Don't forget they draft for next year. They typically draft at positions where they have a guy with one year left.
I think all four of those guys are gone before 20.
1 20 Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
2 51 TRADE: Brandon Aiyuk, WR
3 84 Hunter Nourzad, C, Penn State
3× 98 Jarvis Brownlee, Jr., CB, Florida State
4 128 Qwan'tez Stiggers, DB, Toronto Argonauts

If we the get the right compensation for AB if/when he’s dealt, I’d really like to trade up and get one of these guys.

Except that if you deal AB, you now have to add WR to the draft list and you don't have enough picks to address everything you need as it is.
Plus, they haven't been having any trouble getting pass rush-- lead the NFL last two years in pressures & sacks. White has outstanding numbers for a hook/flat defender & Buck but that still leaves a hole at covoverage backer. Once you get out of base downs. I mean, they'll make it work if White happens to fall to them, but he's not covering much for you beyond the sticks.

We need a guy like Mack Wilson in the first
Devin White won't be there when we draft
ILB is by far our weakest position on the team

You think Wilson has the sand in his pants to play downhill? Basically you put Mack Wilson and Devin Bush together you’d have one great LB.

Adding up Wilson and Bush's solo tackles for their college careers and it just passes Shazier's last year in college.
I would agree with B2B. take the best traits from both and it is a great MLB. Both have holes in their game.

Both have limitations in varying ways.
If Bush were 2 inches taller, he would be my pick at 1.20.
Just don't know if the Steelers will value him that high with 1.20.
Wilson is going late 1st or 2nd IMO.
Wilson in the 2nd would be OK. Bush is no better than a third rounder. The guy had 67 total tackles (solo/asst) in 2018. That’s pretty “meh” for an ILB.
Both are pretty much maxed out, IMO. Neither are game changers.

I wouldn't draft Greedy for the Steelers. Not interested in anything but covering a guy, so little things like run fits and tackling are secondary to him. Fant is an interesting choice, especially if they lose Jesse James in FA, but he comes at a steep price tag. I have, of course, seen Deionte Thompson play, but I haven't really dug into him. I think he would have been a great choice to replace Ryan Clark-- solid pro who won't make a lot of mistakes. Feels like he's not a creating turnovers type guy.

Replace Greedy Williams with Rashan Gary? That said, I think Williams just doesn't have the proper technique when it comes to playing the run tough. Not asked to really be that run defender as he was primarily a cover corner. So he shied away from the contact in a way that preserved himself. Taught the proper technique to make those tackles I think he could improve in the run defense "tackling" area of his craft. As a pass defender though it'd still be hard to let him by @ 20.... bit of a projection I know. JMO
Edit: After today's combine (lack of) performance I pass on Polite @ 20. Just didn't show enough desire to compete and faking a hammy isn't a good character sign. JMO
