2) Justin Madubuike 6’3 300 DT Texas A&M- I am bracing for BPA in round 2. With any luck that player becomes a day 1 starter. Looks like the NT position will need a day 1 starter. After a stellar combine boasting an impressive 4.83 with 31 reps, “BK” here could also represent “BPA.” That’s what is known as a win/win scenario in Tombert world.

3C) Ezra Cleveland 6’6 310 OT Boise St.- Offensive line depth in this class is impressive. BPA here in round 3 could represent another combine star in ‘ol Ezra here. Some quality jumps and a 4.93 40 make for a grand larceny selection late day 2.

4T) Troy Dye 6’3 235 LB Oregon- Linebacker depth in this class is not impressive. Someone named Matt Miller didn’t include Mr. Dye in his latest 3 round post combine mock. I think he errored. Ultra tough, tremendous team leader with elite coverage skills make Dye an early day 3 “BPA” selection while offering the potential to contribute right away should Mark Barron be a cap casualty.

4) Darrell Taylor 6’4 267 EDGE Tennessee- Tomlin’s hometown of Hampton, VA just a short drive south of DT’s hometown of Hopewell.
Virginia geography 101 alone makes him a BPA candidate in the gut of Tomlin. “Chiseled out of granite” with elite ability to flatten and bend, this kid could quickly vault to top backup status behind Watt and presumably Bud Dupree. Dig him.

6) Javelin Guidry 5’9 191 DB Utah- Holy shit speed often justifies BPA in any round. Would gladly toss a day 3 dart throw to add some scrappy versatility with 4.29 speed to the secondary and special teams.

7) Josh Pearson 6’4 203 WR Jacksonville St. (AL)- Pro Days are underway so let the hyperbole begin. “Baby Julio” here sure to buzz after blazing a 4.44 with a 41.5 vert and 10.8 broad jump.

Thanks as always reading. Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t.
Not a lot of glamour picks in this mock, but some really athletic football players.
Truth be told I’ll lose my shit if the Steelers don’t dip into this “historic” crop of WRs. Depth far too great not to represent BPA at some point.
Anyway, With needs at nearly every position group, I’m bracing for the possibility that the Steelers simply stick to their little board and go “BPA” with every single selection.
